Alejandro Belmares would be the lone representative at the Skye Canyon Fit Fest 5k. Alejandro would place third overall in 18:02.

Las Vegas Raiders 3Mi - 3 Mile race at Allegiant Stadium 3/4/23

At the inagural Las Vegas Raiders 3 Mile race Gamini Sugathadasa would capture the Master's 50-54 age group. Gamini would cover the 3 mile course in 16:48 taking 8th place overall.

Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll 10k/Half Marathon - 10k/Half Marathon in Las Vegas, NV 2/26/23

NER would have runners compete in both the featured events at the Rock 'n' Roll race held in Las Vegas. In the 10k, two runners would land in the top 10 on the women's side. Ashley Callihan would land on the podium as the third female in 40:52. Ashley would tie her PR, Heather Kuch would be four spots back in seventh place. Heather would cross the finish line in 45:14 en route to capturing the 30-34 age group win. 

In the half marathon NER was lead by Gamini Sugathadasa who was the teams top finisher at 1:19:27. Gamini's time would help him place 46th overall en route to a 3rd place in the 50-54 age group. Tanya Carrier would be the women's top finisher in 1:33:44 placing 4th in the 40-44 age group (42nd female and 266th overall). Christy Gadoury would follow in 1:49:29 placing 11th in the 45-49 age group (216th female).

Vegas Golden Night 10k - 10k race at Sunset Park 2/5/23

At the Calico Racing Golden Night 10k Ashley Callihan and Tanya Carrier would go 1-2 en route to strong performances. Ashley would break tape posting 41:09 en route to being the second overall finisher in the race. Tanya would run a PR improving her mark from June by more than a minute taking second female (third overall) in 42:03.

Mesa Marathon - Marathon race in Mesa, AZ 2/5/23

Gamini Sugathadasa would lead the way for NER at the Mesa Marathon. Gamini would place 27th overall (1st in the age group), en route a 2:43:00 finish in the marathon. In the half marathon Katarina Tadich would lower her half marathon PR by more than 2 minutes, with a 1:22:10.

Chevron Houston Marathon - Marathon race in Houston, TX 1/15/23

Heather Kuck would check off another marathon, this time at the Chevron Houston Marathon. Heather would cross the line in 4:21:03 placing 990th female and 168th in the age group.

California International Marathon - Marathon race in Sacramento, CA 12/4/22

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone representative at CIM for NER. Gamini would cover the 26.2 mile course in 2:40:39 en route to placing second in the 50-54 age group. Gamini's performance would allow him to be the 29th Masters Runner, as well as come in 431st overall.

Wobble Before You Gobble 5k - 5k race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 11/24/22

Katarina Tadich would be the lone representative at the Wobble Before You Gobble 5k. Katarina would run 19:34 en route being the top female finisher. Katarina's time would also land her 8th overall.

Kaiser Permanente Thrive 5k - 5k race in San Diego, CA 11/12/22

Melissa Everard would win her second event of the season at the Kaiser Permanente Thrive 5k. Melissa would break tape in 21:03 finishing a minute ahead of the runner up.

Santa Barbara Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Santa Barbara, CA 11/6/22

NER would head back to California for a team trip to compete at the Santa Barbara Half Marathon.

Alejandro Belmares would pave the way in a season's best, placing 13th overall (6th in age group), en route to a 1:17:39.

The women would be lead by Kat Tadich in 1:26:37. Kat would place 5th female (2nd in age group) and 51st overall. Ashley Callihan would be the next runner covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:30:46. Ashley's performance would place her 11th female, 5th age group and 74th overall. Tanya Carrier would the third female representative for NER finishing in 1:38:30. Tanya would place 30th female, 5th age group, and 165th overall

Bank of America Chicago Marathon - Marathon race in Chicago, IL 10/9/22

NER would be represented by the ladies at the Chicago Marathon, both runners would do so in stellar fashion. Melissa Everard would lead the way finishing in 3:09:41. Melissa's time would place her 39th in her age group, 353rd female, and 3215th overall. Ashley Callihan would have a record setting day en route to a new PR crossing the finish line in 3:12:59. Ashley's time would be a 18 minute PR helping her finish 94th in her age group, 461st female, and 3664th overall.

Vegas Strong 5k - 5k race at Fremont Street Experience, NV 10/2/22

Gamini Sugathadasa would capture his first win of the season at the Vegas Strong 5k. Gamini would break tape in 16:42 finishing just under a minute ahead of the runner up.

BMW Berlin Marathon - Marathon race in Berlin, Germany 9/25/22

Heather Kuch would check off first international major at the Berlin Marathon. Heather would cross the finish in 3:38:46 placing 350th in her age group. Heather's time would also land her as the 1579th woman to finish.

Candlelighters Super Hero 5k - 5k race at Mountain's Edge Exploration Peak 9/17/22


Gamini Sugathadasa would pave the way for NER at the Candlelight's Super Hero 5k paving the way for three podium finishes. Gamini would place second overall in a photo finish en route to a 17:04. Alejandro Belmares would place third overall in 17:48. On the women's side, Kat Tadich placed first female overall (4th runner overall) in 19:08 setting a new PR in the process. This would be the second consecutive event Kat broke tape in.

Cedar Breaks at Night Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Brian Head, UT 8/12/22

Heather Kuch would travel across state lines running a night trail race at the Cedar Breaks Night Half Marathon. Heather would place 60th overall en route to a 2:34:09 finish. Heather's time would help her finish fourth in the age group, as well as 14th female overall. The course features a start line above 11,000 feet and is regarded as one of the most difficult races in Utah.

4th of July 5k Blast - 5k race at Floyd Lamb Park 7/4/22

Heather Kuch continued her strong racing season with another record setting performance. Heather would set a new PR in the 5k placing 20th overall (5th female) in 21:45.

Surf City 4th of July 5k - 5k race in Hungtinton Beach 7/4/22

Gamini Sugathadasa would deliver another strong performance in California at the Surf City 4th of July 5k. Capturing the Masters Age Group, Gamini would place 15th overall in 16:55.

Arroyo Creek 10k - 10k race in Simi Valley, CA 6/26/22

For the first time since 2018, NER would capture a team competition title, this time at the Arroyo Creek 10k. Alejandro Belmares would capture his second win of the season, crossing the finishing line in 36:06 and would be the lone male representative. Alejandro would also set the new course record with his victory.

The women would achieve a sweep of the podium en route to several record setting performances. Kat Tadich would be the top female runner, crossing as the first female (third overall) in 37:52. Kat would set a new PR in the process. Ashley Callihan would be the female runner up in 40:52 (7th runner overall) en route to a PR. Tanya Carrier would complete the sweep placing third female (9th overall) in 43:13. Christy Gadoury would take 2nd in the 40-49 age group (21st overall) in 54:39.

Ventura Beachfron Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Ventura, CA 6/11/22

Melissa Everard would win her first event of the year at the Ventura Beachfront Half Marathon. Melissa's 1:30:07 would be the top female finishing time, as well as landing her fourth overall in the race.

Mountains 2 Beach Marathon - Marathon race in Ojai, CA 6/5/22

Gamini Sugathadasa would kick off his marathon season with a strong opening race at Mountain's 2 Beach. Placing 8th overall, Gamini would run 2:45:06 en route to winning the 50-54 age group.

Vista Strawberry Festival 5k - 5k race in Vista, CA 5/29/22

Melissa Everard would land on the podium at the Vista Strawberry 5k. Taking 3rd female overall in 20:35, Melissa would be in a close race as the top three spots would be decided by 18 seconds.

Eugene Marathon - Marathon race in Eugene, OR 5/1/22

Heather Kuch would continue her impressive spring season with another record setting performance. Heather would lower her marathon personal best to 3:28:39 eclipsing her old mark by more than six minutes. Heather's time would earn her 40th place in the 30-34 age group and 630th overall in the race.

Runnin' for the House 5k - 5k race at Floyd Lamb Park 4/30/22

NER would have a strong representation at the Ronald McDonald 5k held at Floyd Lamb Park. Gmaini Sugathadasa would set the tone placing second overall covering the 3.25 mile course in 19:15. Ashley Callihan would break tape in the women's event in 20:57 en route to a third place overall finish. Kat Tadich would place second in the women's race (5th overall) in 21:13.

126th Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race in Boston, MA 4/18/22

For the second time in six months, NER would have runners competing at the Boston Marathon. Alejandro Belmares would lead the way with in 2:54:39. Alejandro's time would make him the 8th finisher from the state of Nevada (4th from Las Vegas) landing him in 2095th place overall. Kat Tadich would be the top female finisher for the team coming through in 3:05:26 for 4271st place overall. Kat would be the third female from the state of Nevada (1st from Las Vegas) and the 14th runner from the state. Tanya Carrier would cover the distance in 3:24:14. Tanya's time would make her the sixth female from Nevada (3rd from Las Vegas) and 24th overall runner from the state.

San Diego Beach & Bay Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 4/10/22

Melissa Everard compete for the second time this season at the San Diego Beach and Bay Half Marathon. Melissa would place 8th female overall (first in the 40-44 age group), in 1:31:51. Melissa's time would help her capture the Masters win as well.

Las Vegas Women's Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Henderson, NV 4/9/22

NER would earn their second win of the season at the inagural Las Vegas Women's Half Marathon. Heather Kuch would take the lead from the start and lead wire to wire. Heather would break tape in 1:48:06.

Revel Mt Charleston Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Mt. Charleston NV 4/2/22

Heather Kuch would represent NER as a pacer for the Revel Mt. Charleston. Heather would be entrusted with the 2:00 Half Marathon group, leading the runners through the 13.1 mile descent in 1:59:19.

Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll 10k & Half Marathon - 10k & Half Marathon races in Las Vegas NV, 2/27/22

NER opened up the local racing season with a strong showing at the Rock 'n' Roll Vegas event featuring two new team debuts and several podium finishes. In the 10k Alejandro Belmares would capture the victory in 36:44 finishing 9 seconds ahead of the runner up. On the women's side Ashley Callihan would be the third woman to cross the finish line in 43:43. Ashely's time would land her 20th overall in the 10k.

In the half marathon the women would be led by Kat Tadich who would place 6th female overall en route to a 1:26:30. Kat's time would also land her ahead of several of the women whom started in the elite corral. Two team debuts would be the next finishers. Tanya Carrier would come through in 1:36:05 in 40th woman overall (6th in age group). Heather Kuch would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:38:30 en route a new PR. Heather would place 5th in her age group and be the 45th woman overall. Christy Gadoury would run 1:59:57 pacing the two hour half marathoners. The men would be represented by Gamini Sugathadasa who walk/jog the course in 2:50:07.

T9 Mermaid Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 2/26/22

Melissa Everard returned to the racing circuit after two years landing on the podium at the T9 Mermaid Half Marathon. Melissa would be the third female (5th overall runner) to cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:28:25. Her time would also help capture the 40-44 age group.

59th Annual JFK 50 Miler - 50mi race in Boonsboro, MD 11/20/21

Gamini Sugathadasa made his official ultra marathon debut at the JFK 50 Mile race, America's oldest ultra marathon. The course features a mix of trail and road as well as being featured every year since its inception in 1963.The course runs through the Appalachian trails, Chesapeake and Ohio Towpath covering several technical routes.

Gamini set a national record at the event by becoming the first Sri Lankan runner to compete and finish in the race. Gamini would place 35th overall (2nd in the 50-59 age group) en route to a 6:51:10 finishing time.

125th Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race in Boston, MA 10/11/21


NER would once again be represented at the Boston Marathon. This year, the lone representative would be Christy Gadoury. Christy would cover the 26.2 mile distance in 3:45:56.

Nevada Senior Games - Track and Field race at Myron Partridge Stadium 10/18/21


Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone representative at the Nevada Senior Games. Gamini's debut at the games would see him win three gold medals in the 400m, 800m, and the 1,500m en route to dominating performances.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon - Marathon race in Chicago, IL 10/10/21


Johnny Lopez would return to the Windy City and take on the Chicago Marathon. Johnny would cover the 26.2 mile course in 4:19:33 en route to a course PR.

Candlelighters Super Hero 5k - 5k race at Mountain's Edge Park 9/18/21


David Gonzales would return to the racing world and under the NER kit at the Super Hero 5k. David would place 53rd overall (fifth in the 51-60 age group) in 26:43. This would be David's first event in more than 3 years.

Third Annual Andale! 5k - 5k race at Kellog Zaher Park 9/18/21


NER's influence would be felt at the third annual Andale 5k. With two participants competing on the men's side and former member Theresa Guerra being on the Race Committee board. Gamini Sugathadasa

 would win his second 5k of the year, this time in a time of 17:29. Johnny Lopez would place 8th overall  (second in the 30-39 age group) in a time of 22:48.

High Mountain Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ 8/7/21

Johnny Lopez would make his season debut running his first event in over two years. Johnny would travel across state lines and compete at the High Mountain Half Marathon. Johnny would place 10th overall in 1:42:32 capturing the 35-39 age group. His performance would also make him the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

Legends of Cross Country 5k - 5k race at Veteran's Memorial Park in Boulder City, NV 8/7/21

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone representative at the Legends of Cross Country 5k. Placing 13th overall, Gamini would cover the 3.1 cross country desert course in 18:09. Gamini would capture the 50-59 Masters age group win.

Tushars Mountain Ultra Marathon Mountain Run - 100k race in Tushars Utah 7/31/21

Benny Bennet would make his ultra marathon running debut at the Tushars Mountain Race by taking on the 100km event.

Benny would place 51st overall in 21:11:37. The Tushars Mountain Runs are staged out of Eagle Point Resort at an elevation of over 10,000 feet. All race distances climb to the highest point in the Tushar range, Delano Peak at 12,174 feet.

Utah Valley Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Provo, UT 6/5/21

NER would be represented by Ashley Callihan and Alejandro Belmares at the Utah Valley Half Marathon.

Paced by Alejandro, Ashley Callihan would place 18th female overall (7th in AG) en route to a new PR of 1:27:07 shaving off more than a minute from her previous best.

Both runners would finish as the top representatives from the state of Nevada.

Red Rock Canyon 100k - 100k race at Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas 5/8/21

Christy Gadoury would continue her success on the trails following a strong showing at the Red Rock Canyon 100k. Christy would be the runner up covering the 100km course in 15:01:45. Christy's performance would also land her as the 6th overall finisher.

Gamini Sugathadsa kicked off his 2021 season with an easy win at the Runnin' for the House 5k. Gamini would cover the 3.1 mile trail course in 19:37 for his first official career win.

Lake Havasu Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Lake Havasu City, AZ 3/27/21

NER travelled across state lines for the first live race in over a year for Katarina Tadich, Ashley Callihan, and Alejandro Belmares.

The ladies paved the way with Katarina placing second overall female en route to 1:28:32 finishing time. Ashley would take 4th female overall with capturing the 35-39 age group in 1:30:40. Alejandro Belmares would be the lone male representative placing 6th overall in 1:23:47 winning the 35-39 age group.

Antelope Island Buffalo Run - 100 Mi race in Syracuse, UT 3/26/21-3/27/21

Christy Gadoury kicked off the 2021 season for NER with a 100 mile race. Christy would place 4th female overall covering the distance in 24:48:56. Her performance would capture the 40-44 age group.

Limited Edition Revel Mt. Charleston Marathon - Marathon race at Mt. Charleston 11/13/20

Gamini Sugathadasa would the lone representative at the limited edition race hosted by Revel at Mount Charleston. It would be Gamini's first official race in over a year, however he would show no signs of rust as he would place second overall in 2:33:28. Gamini's time would be a downhill marathon PR and he would be the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

Sioux Falls Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Sioux Falls, SD 08/30/20

Alan Carreno traveled across state lines to continue his quest of 50 half marathons in 50 states as races resume. Alan would place second overall en route to a new PR of 1:12:32. Alan's new personal best would be a full minute faster than his previous best.

Calico Racing ET Full Moon Marathon - Marathon race in Rachel, NV 08/02/20

In the first major race held in the state, Christy Gadoury captured the win at the Calico Racing ET Full Marathon. Christy would cover the 26.2 mile course in 3:35:25 being the top finisher from the state of Nevada as well. Christy's time would land her 5th overall in the standings, while finishing more than 30 minutes ahead of the runner up on the women's side.

Mermaid Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 2/8/20

Melissa Everard would be the lone representative at the Mermaid Half Marathon. Melissa would take second in the women's race (6th overall) covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:27:03. It would be Melissa's second consecutive runner up finish of the 2020 season.

Calico Racing Vegas Golden Night (Day) 10K - 10k race at Sunset Park 2/8/20

Benny Bennett would make his official NER debut at the Calico Racing Vegas Golden Night 10k. Benny would place second overall in 37:50 en route to a new 10k PR.

Sprouts Mesa Half/Marathon - Half/Marathon race in Mesa Arizona 2/8/20

For the fourth year in a row NER returned to the land of the valley of the sun to compete in the Mesa Marathon. The race featured the official team debut by Ashley Callihan in the half marathon along with Alejandro Belmares' strong marathon performance.

In the half, Ashley Callihan would post a 1:30:56 en route to placing 18th in the 35-39 age group (217th overall). This would make Ashley the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

In the marathon, Alejandro Belmares would place 37th overall (12th in the 30-34 age group), in 2:47:43 en route to being the top finisher from the state of Nevada. It would also be Alejandro's second fastest marathon to date. Brent Shirley would be the next finisher in 3:04:51. Kat Tadich would be the final member to run the marathon crossing the line in 3:14:19. Kat's time would earn her 11th place in the 30-34 age group and make her the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

Walt Disney World Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Orlando, Florida 1/12/20

Pete Banks would represent NER at the World Disney Half Marathon in Orlando, a race that featured more than 26,000 runners. Pete would place 9th overall (2nd in the 30-34 age group) in 1:18:42. Pete would be the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

02 Fitness Charleston Marathon - Marathon race in Charleston, South Carolina 1/12/20

Alan Carreno made his road marathon debut in Charleston South Carolina in stellar fashion. Alan would over the 26.2 mile course in 2:39:24 taking third overall (1st in the 30-34 age group).

13th Annual Resolution Run - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 1/11/20

Melissa Everard would kick off the 2020 season for NER at the 13th Annual Resolution Run in San Diego. Melissa would place be the runner up in the women's race (sixth overall) in 1:26:39.

Wobble Before You Gobble 5k - 5k race at Kellogg Zaher Park 11/28/19

Alan Carreno would compete looking to make team history in becoming the first team member to win a 5k four consecutive years in a row. Alan would miss out, taking second overall in 17:00 coming in 20 seconds behind the eventual winner. This would be Alan's first race since his half marathon in Chile held in September.

Six Tunnels to Hoover Dam Turkey Trot - 12K race at Lake Mead Conservational Area 11/28/19

Pete Banks would win his second event in a row as a member of NER. Pete's would win the event in 54:19, finishing more than 20 minutes ahead of the runner up. The course is an out and back that has runners climb up to Hoover Dam via the Six Tunnels before turning around and coasting back down.

Humana Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon - Half Marathon race on the Las Vegas Strip 11/17/2019

Gamini Sugathadasa would compete in the annual half marathon hosted by Rock 'n' Roll. Gamini would place second in the 45-49 age group (44th overall) in 1:21:19. Alan Carreno would split the pace duty for the 3:20 marathon.

Ventura Marathon - Marathon race in Ventura, CA 10/19/19

Melissa Everard would have a record setting day at the Ventura Marathon. Melissa would place second female (25th overall) en route to a 3:02:38. Melissa's time would be a 3 minute improvement from her previous best.

Red Rock Canyon 10 Mile Challenge - 10 Mile race at Red Rock Canyon 10/12/19

NER returned to the Red Rock 10 Mile Challenge looking to defend the teams first team title award in six years.

Pete Banks would lead the way with his fourth place finish, as NER landed six runners in the top 15. The men's team showcased their depth by sweeping the 30-39 age group. Pete would capture the group with a time of 56:11. Alejandro Belmares would be 5th overall (2nd on the 30-39 age group) in 57:18, and Jon Russell's 1:00:15 would land him 8th overall (3rd in the age group). Run Clubber Keishmer Cardoso would be 15th in 1:06:16 followed by Brent Shirley in 22nd overall (1:12:17).

The ladies lone representative would be Courtney Knapp who placed 4th overall in the women's race in 1:06:07. Team Member Sierra DeGroff would compete for the Charity Team Ava's Avengers's placing third overall in 1:03:35.

2019 Great Aloha Run - 10k race in San Diego, CA 9/8/19

Melissa Everard would capture her first win of the seaon at the Great Aloha Run. Melissa's 39:15 would be more than 3 minutes ahead of the runner up in the women's race and lower her 10k record by more than a minute.

Patagonia International Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Patagonia, Chile 9/7/2019

Alan Carreno would head south of the equator to compete in Patagonia Chile in his first international half marathon. Alan would place second overall in 1:15:45 in a race where runners ran in winter conditions due to the race being held in the southern most tip of South America.

End of Summer 4 Miler - 4 Mile Race in La Jolla, CA 8/25/19

Melissa Everard would take on a elite field of runners at the End of Summer 4 Miler in La Jolla. Melissa would place 8th female (22nd overall) in 25:02. Melisssa's time would help her capture the 40-44 age group.

Pikes Peak Ascent - Half Marathon race in Manitou Springs, CO 8/24/19

Alan Carreno would check off his 16th state on his quest to run a half in all 50 states by taking on altitude and elevation gain in Colorado. Alan could place 11th overall in 2:40:56, taking third overall in the 25-29 age group. The Pikes Peak Ascension race features an average gradient of 11% while runners gain more than 7,000 feet of elevation. Temperatures also average in the mid 50s for this event which tells runners to use their flat marathon time as a course estimate.

23rd Annual Legends of Cross Country 5k - 5k at Sunset Park 8/16/19


For the first time in three years, NER would be represented at the local Legends of Cross Country 5k. The race entering its 23rd year features local high school runners as well as other club teams. This year, Sierra DeGroff would be the lone representative at the event placing 4th overall female (1st in 25-29 age group) in 19:08.

City of Cypress Run - 10k race in Cypress, CA 7/27/19

Alejandro Belmares would travel to California for the third time this season to compete in a 10k race, doing so in Cypress California. The race which features prize money to the top 3 finishers historically has yieled elite runners due to its flat and fast course. Alejandro would finish as the second runner from Las Vegas, taking 12th overall (8th male) in 35:26.

4th of July 5k Blast - 5k race at Floyd Lamb Park 7/4/19

NER would compete for the third year in a row at the 4th of July 5k held at Floyd Lamb Park. Alan Carreno continued his record setting running this season taking second overall in 16:15. Alan's time would be a 18 second improvement from his previous best time set back in April. Alejandro Belmares would place 6th overall in 17:18 en route to a third place finish in the 30-39 age group. Alejandro's time would make him the 3rd in the male 30-34 age group. The race would be won by Daniel Herrera who currently holds Mexico's national record in the mile in 30:31.

Squaw Peak 50 Mile Trail Race - 50 Mi race in Vivian Park, Utah 6/08/19

Sierra DeGroff would represent NER at the Squaw Valley 50 mile race held in Utah host of the 50 mile trail US Championships. Sierra would cover the course in 12:28:22. The course features over 14,000 feet of elevation gain/loss along with 5 climbs that can be as much as 3,000 feet with snow present.

9th Annual City Impact Ventura Beachfront 10k - 10k race in Ventura, CA 6/08/19

Alejandro Belmares would return 7 years later to compete at the City Impact Ventura race, this time doing so in the 10k. Unlike the last time when Alejandro took second, Alejandro was able to pull off the win in this year's event. Covering the 6.2 mile course in 34:44, Alejandro would win the race by 51 seconds en route to setting a new course record and PR. Alejandro would lower his 10k personal record by 16 seconds. This would be the second time Alejandro earned a win and while setting a new course record at a California race.

Vista Strawberry Festival Run - 5k race in Vista, CA 5/26/19

Melissa Everard would kick off her season with a podium finish at the Vista Strawberry Festival 5k. Melissa would cover the 3.1 mile course in 20:24 taking third female (30th overall).

Narrow Gauge 10 miler - 10 Mi race in Durango, CO 5/26/16

Alan Carreno would go back to back doing an unofficial duathlon by competing in a 10 mile race a day after his 48 mile cycling race. Alan would take second overall in 1:00:35 to land on the podium finishing behind elite runner Anthony Kunkel. The course featured nearly a mile long climb that had an elevation profile of 5.9% at mile 8.

Iron Horse Classic: Coca Cola Road Race - Cycling race in Durango, CO 5/25/19

Alan travel would hit the road for another race, however this time instead of running on two feet he would be compete on two wheels. Alan would held to the Colorado to compete in a 48 mile road cycling race and take on hills and altitude. Alan would place 8th overall in the 19-34 age group, covering the 48 mile ride in 2:46:19. The race featured more than 5,300 feet of elevation gain to go with weather changes from the shifts in elevation.

123rd Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race in Boston, MA 4/15/19

Brent Shirley would be the lone representative at the Boston Marathon, making this the sixth consecutive year NER has someone partake in this iconic race. Brent would be the 11th finisher from the state of Nevada with a time of 3:09:01. Brent's time would land him in 4159th overall on a day that began with rain before becoming hot and humid.

BBSC Rage Duathlon - Duathlon race at Lake Mead, NV 4/13/19

Alan Carreno would continue his strong local performances by earning his third win of the season, this time in a duathlon. Alan would compete in the sprint distance of the Rage Duathlon held at Boulder Beach in Lake Mead. The Duathlon features a 5k run, 20k bicicyle ride and ends with a second 5k. Alan would win by more than 7 minutes crossing the line in 1:18:10. His times for each segment were 17:57 for the first 5k, 39:07 for the 20k ride, and the final 5k would be 19:06.

B.A.A. 5K - 5K race in Boston, MA 4/13/19

Alejandro Belmares would return to Boston to compete in the 5k during marathon weekend. Alejandro would place 87th overall with a time of 17:04. Alejandro would place 15th in the 30-34 age group and be the top finisher from Nevada less than a week after battling a stomach virus.

15th Annual Runnin' for the House 5k - 5k race at Ronald McDonald's House of Charities 4/6/19

NER would return to the Ronald McDonald 5k in dominating fashion. Led by Alan Carreno's first place finish, NER would land three runners in the top 4. Alan would earn his second win of the season crossing the finish line in 16:32, en route to setting a new PR, also for the second time this season. Jon Russell would land on podium by taking third overall in 17:15 followed by Brent Shirley in 4th. Brent's 18:25 would help him earn 3rd in the 30-34 age group. The women's team would be represented by Celeste Sportsman who would place 7th in her age group (66th overall). Celeste would cover the 3.1 mile course in 28:48 in her first competive race since August of 2018 following injuries.

8th Annual Windy 25 5k - 5k race at the Cosmopolitan on Las Vegas Strip 3/30/19

Jon Russell continued his impressive racing by earning his second win of the season, doing so this time at the Windy 25 5k Run. Jon would cross the finish line 16:52, finishing more than 2 minutes ahead of the runner up. Jon would become the fifth person from NER to earn the victory in the eight years of the event being held.

San Diego Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 3/10/19

Jon Russell would travel across state lines to compete at the San Diego Half Marathon and secure not only a PR but also an age group win. Jon would place 11th overall en route to a 1:16:11, making him the top finisher from Nevada. Jon's time would be a four minute improvement from his previous best time.

Little Rock Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Little Rock, AK 3/3/19

Alan Carreno would continue his quest to run a half marathon in every state by checking off number 15 in Arkansas. Alan would compete at the Little Rock Half Marathon and place 4th overall in 1:14:14. It would be his second fastest half marathon ever, as Alan would earn the top spot in the 25-29 age group.

Calico Racing's Red Rock Canyon Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Red Rock Canyon, NV 2/23/19

Jon Russell would make his official team debut in winning fashion by breaking tape the Calico Racing's Red Rock Half Marathon. Jon would successfully defend his title from the previous year by winning the race in 2019 with a time of 1:21:33. Jon's time would be 8 minutes faster than the next runner.

Sprouts Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Mesa, AZ 2/09/19

For the third year in a row, Alejandro Belmares traveled to the land of the valley of the sun to compete at the Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon. For the second consecutive race, Alejandro would notch a PR, this time improving his half marathon time by 5 seconds. Alejandro would place 34th overall (9th in age group) running 1:15:26. Alejandro would also finish as the top runner from Nevada.

Calico Racing's Vegas Golden Night - Day 10k - 10k race at Sunset Park 02/09/19

Alan Carreno would runaway from the competition at the inaugural Vegas Golden Night-Day 10k hosted by Calico Racing. Alan would win the race by more than six minutes crossing the line in 34:01, improving his 10K PR by 18 seconds.

Securian Winter Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in St. Paul, MN 1/26/19

Alan Carreno would kick off his season running in frigid temperatures in St. Paul Minnesota. Alan would place 2nd overall at the Securian Winter Half Marathon with a 1:19:11. The weather on race day featured temperatures that were below freezing as the temperature at the start was -1 and mild snow. This would be the 14th state completed by Alan who continues his 50 half marathon quest.

Christian Okoye Ontario Mills 10k - 10k race in Ontario, CA 1/19/19

The 2019 racing season kicked off with a record setting perofmance by Alejandro Belmares. Alejandro would travel across state lines and compete in California at the Ontario Mills 10k earning his first win in nearly four years. Alejandro would cover the 6.2 mile course in 35:00.4 setting the course record by 3 seconds. His time would also earn him a new personal best by 15 seconds, winning the race by more than 5 minutes. This would be the 8th career road race win for Alejandro.

California International Marathon - Marathon race in Sacramento, CA 12/2/18

Brent Shirley would be the lone male representative at the California International Marathon that once again would serve as the USTAF Marathon Championships. Brent would run 2:49:25 placing in the top 100 of the 30-34 age group (95th overall) and landing in 540th overall. Run Club member Sierra DeGroff would continue her PR streak, this time in the marathon, crossing in 3:09:37 shaving off more than 9 minutes off her previous best time. Sierra would also place in the top 100 in her age group earning 94th (25-29 age group), and place 1,291st overall.

Wobble Before You Gobble 5k - 5k race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 11/22/18

Alan Carreno became the second member in team history to earn a three-peat with his victory at the Wobble Before You Gobble 5k held on Thanksgiving Day. Alan would defend his title on a new course that featured more elevation gain than the previous two years combined. Alan would cross the finish line in 17:24, 5 seconds ahead of Run Club member Pedro Rios Jr who ran 17:29. Brent Shirley would place 5th overall in 18:05 en route to placing second in the 30-39 age group. Running in costume Alejandro Belmares would place 14th overall in 20:22. Run Club Member Pedro Rios Sr. would win the Masters age group with a time of 21:23. The women were lead by Run Club members Mercy Sells who would place 2nd overall in 19:29 while Sierra DeGroff would earn 3rd with a time of 19:56 en route to a season's best time.

Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half/Marathon - Half/Marathon races on Las Vegas Strip 11/11/18

NER continues its yearly tradition of volunteering at the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half/Marathon. This year, Gamini Sugathadasa and Alan Carreno served as pacers for the event. Gamini would pace the 1:20 half marathon group while Alan split the 3:05 pace group for the marathon. Gamini would cross the finish line in 1:20:14. Run Club member Mercy Sells would also be part of the pace teams splitting the 3:15 marathon pace group. Two Run Club members would race in the half marathon distance. Bree Thorpe would be the top female from Nevada with her 1:19:59 en route to a 15th place female finish. Her time would land her 59th overall. Sierra DeGroff would be the second member, earning a PR with her time of 1:30:12.

Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 11/4/2018

Melissa Everard would run a season's best at the Thrive Half Marathon hosted by Kaiser Permanente. Melissa would place 31st overall (13th female) en route to a 1:3112. Melissa's time would capture the 40-44 age group.

Temecula Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Temecula, CA 10/21/18

Melissa Everard would take on the hills in Temecula en route a top 5 finish in the women's race. Melissa would place 24th overall with her 1:35:24 earning 5th in the 40-44 age group.

Red Rock Canyon 10 Mile Challenge - 10 Mile race at Red Rock Canyon 10/21/18

For the first time in almost four years NER would field a complete roster for a race event. Led by Alan Carreno, NER would land six runners in the top 15, with five being among the first ten finishers at the inagrual Red Rock Canyon 10 mile race held by Bristlecone Events. Alan would place second overall in 55:48, followed by run club member Jon Russell's 4th place finish in 57:55. Alejandro Belmares would land in 5th place overall and take second in the 30-39 age group (with Jon Russell taking 1st), in a time of 58:15.  Brent Shirley would make his official team debut at the event earning 10th overall in 1:01:20 (4th in the 30-39 age group). Run Club members/sisters Bree Thorpe and Mercy Sells would place 2nd overall in the women's division (9th in the general standings), and 4th in womens (13th in general standings). Bree would run 1:00:49, followed by Mercy's 1:06:17.  Spouses/Run Club members Ericka Rios would place 19th overall (8th female) in 1:11:38 earning a second place finish in the 40-49 age group, followed by Pedro Rios Sr in 1:12:14 in 20th overall (2nd 40-49 age group).

Danny Gans Memorial Run - 5k race at Town Square 10/20/18

Crystelle Schultz would earn his first podium finish of the year at the Danny Gans Memorial Run. Crystelle would cover the 3.1 mile course in 20:59 earning second place overall. With her performance, Crystelle would also take the second place cash price of $200 all while running her fastest 5k as a member of NER and her best time in ten years.

Great Aloha Run - 10k race in San Diego, CA 9/8/18

Melissa Everard would compete at the Great Aloha Run and capture the 40-44 age group with a time of 42:22. Melissa would be the runner up and finish 11th overall.

Alejandro Belmares would continue the tradition of competing on July 4th by participating in the 4th of July 5k Blast. Alejandro would place second overall in 17:43 to improve on his finishing place from the year before.

Cellcom Green Bay Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Green Bay, WI 5/20/18

Running his second half marathon in as many weeks, Alan Carreno traveled to the frozen tundra in Green Bay. Alan would once again land on the leaderboard taking 9th overall in 1:14:52. Alan's time would also help him land in fourth place in the 25-29 age group, continuing a string of sub 1:16 half finishing times.

Zion Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Zion, UT 4/28/18

Chris Clark would take on the trails and hills at the Zion Half Marathon on a course that features a constant elevation gain. Chris would go on to place 19th overall (2nd in age group) in 1:35:46.

Kentucky Derby Marathon Festival - Half Marathon race in Louisville, KY 4/28/18

Alan Carreno would travel to the Bluegrass State and run in the Kentucky Derby Half Marathon. With a time of 1:13:12, Alan would place 7th overall (3rd in the 25-29 age group) en route to a new half marathon PR.

14th Annual Runnin' for the House 5k - 5k race held at Ronald McDonald's House of Charities 4/28/18

NER would return to one of its local favorite charity races and deliver a strong team performance at the Ronald McDonald Run for the House 5k. Gamini Sugathadasa would continue his torrent running landing in third overall in 17:16. Alejandro Belmares would place 4th overall in 17:38. The women would be represented by Crystelle Schutlz who would place 4th overall in the women's race in 23:48.

Virgin Mobile London Marathon - Marathon race in London, England 4/22/18

Gamini Sugathadasa entered the London Marathon on the cusp of making history as he looked to become the first person from Southern Nevada to complete the Abbots Worls Marathon Major Challenge. Gamini would also add to that legacy by becoming the first native from Sri Lanka to achieve the feat. Race day featured warmer than usual temperatures, yet Gamini would finish in 2:47:45 earning 333rd place overall.

122nd Annual Boston Marathon Marathon - Marathon race in Boston, MA 4/16/18

The 122nd Annual Boston Marathon would be one of the most memorable days in the long history of the race. On a day that featured freezing temperatures, wind gusts of 30 mph, and a torrential downpour, runners were tested in every possible way to cross the finish line. Alejandro Belmares would return for a third time and would cross the line in 2:52:08 finishing as the top runner from Nevada. Alejandro would place 729th overall and 635th in the 18-34 age group.

Melissa Everard would capture her second age group victory at the San Deigo Beach and Bay Run. Running 32:07, Melissa would place fourth female (5th overall) en route to a new personal record.

7th Annual Windy 25 Run - 5k race at the Cosmopolitan on the Las Vegas Strip 4/7/2018

Race for Autism - 5k race in San Diego, CA 3/24/18

Melissa Everard opened her season at the Race for Autism with a podium finish. Melissa would place second in the women's race (11th overall) in 21:09.

Myrtle Beach Marathon - Marathon race in Myrtle Beach, SC 3/3/18

Continuing his 50 marathons in 50 states quest, Johnny Lopez would check off South Carolina by competing at Myrtle Beach. Johnny would go on to set a new PR crossing the finish line in 3:27:57. Johnny would place 12th in the 30-34 age group bracket.

Sprouts Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Mesa, AZ 2/24/18

Returning to the land of the Valley of the Sun, Alejandro Belmares would run the half marathon in what is becoming an annual event for NER. Alejandro would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:16:41 earning 30th place overall. The performance would land him 9th in the 30-34 age group on a morning filled with some frigid temperatures.

Las Vegas Track Club 10k Championship - 10k race at Kellogg Zaher Park 1/6/18

Alejandro Belmares kicked off the 2018 season at the Las Vegas Track Club 10k Championship. In what has become an annual event for NER, Alejandro would be the runner up on the new course this year in 36:12. The route featured 4 out of the 6.2 miles filled with long climbs and steep grades.

San Diego Holiday Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 12/16/18

Melissa Everard would cap off the 2018 racing season with a record setting performance at the Holiday Half Marathon. Melissa would place 24th in the women's race (84th overall) [5th in age group], with a time of 1:25:43 to improve her half marathon personal record.

Desert Dash Black Mountain Friday 10k - 10k trail race at Black Mountain 11/24/17

A day after defending his title, Alan Carreno took on the trails at the Black Mountain Friday 10k. Alan would place 4th overall (1st in age group) in 1:19:13 on a course that featured 2,262 feet of elevation gain.

Wobble Before You Gobble 5K - 5k race at Kelog Zaher Park 11/23/17

Alan Carreno would defend his title with a faster time than last year. Alan would run 17:13 en route to the win. Johnny Lopez would be the second team finisher earning 23rd overall in 22:33 en route to placing 5th in the 30-39 age group.

TCS New York City Marathon - Marathon race in New York City, NY 11/5/17

Gamini Sugathadasa continued his historic march towards taming the World Marathon Majors. Gamini would cover the 26.2 mile course that goes through all five burroughs of New York in 2:45:05. With his completion of the race, Gamini moved one step closer to becoming the first Sri Lankan citizen to run all six majors. Gamini placed 246th overall (out of 50,646 runners) and earned 14th place in the 45-49 age group.

Kaui Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Kaui, Hi 9/3/17

For the second time in the span of a week, NER had a runner place 5th in a half marathon. Alan Carreno would achieve this feat at the Kauai Half Marathon. Alan would place second in the 25-29 age bracket with a time of 1:25:18

Santa Rosa Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Santa Rosa, CA 8/27/17

Traveling to California, Alejandro Belmares would place on the leaderboard at the Santa Rosa Half Marathon. With a time of 1:19:51, Alejandro would earn fifth overall on a course that featured over 300 feet of elevation gain on the back half of the course. Alejandro's time would help him earn 4th in the 30-34 age group.

4th of July Blast! - 5k race at Floyd Lamb Park 7/4/17

Alejandro would return to the racing circuit celebrating the fourth of July. With a time of 18:14, Alejandro would land on the podium in third place overall.

34th Annual Shiprock Marathon - Marathon race held in Shiprock, NM 5/12/17

Johnny Lopez would travel to the land of enchantment by running the Shiprock Marathon. Johny would place 37th overall (9th in 30-39 age group) covering the 26.2 mile course in 3:52:41. He would be the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

Cinco de Miler Run - 5M race held in Chicago, IL 5/6/17

Alan Carreno would continue this his strong running performances in the windy city at the Cinco de Miler. Alan would place sixth overall in 27:36 earning third place overall in the male 25-29 age group. Alan would set his third consecutive PR at this event en route to being the the top finisher from Nevada.

13th Annual Runnin' for the House 5k - 5k race at Ronald McDonald's House of Charities 4/29/17

NER would have a strong team performance at Ronald McDonald 5k spearheaded by Alan Carreno. Alan would continue his strong running posting his second consecutive PR, this time in the 5k. Alan would run 16:35 earning second place overall. Alejandro Belmares would follow in third place, crossing the line in 17:12. Johnny Lopez would land in third in the 30-34 age group with his 20:45 performance. Max Skidanov would make his return to the racing circuit in record setting fashion. Max would place 16th overall in 20:56, setting a PR in the process and finishing second in the 35-39 age group. Crystelle Schutlz would be the lone female representative and return to the racing scene following a three year hiatus. Crystelle would cover the 3.1 mile course in 24:41 en route to winning the 25-29 age group.

121st Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon in Boston, MA 4/17/17

The 121st Annual Boston Marathon would go on record for being the second warmest marathon in the previous decade. Alejandro Belmares would battle to a 3:06:08 finish with temperatures reaching 77 degrees at the height of the race.

Go! St. Louis Half Marathon Family Weekend - Half marathon in St. Louis, Mo 4/8/17


Alan Carreno would travel across state lines once more and land on the leader board en route to a record performance. Alan would place tenth overall in 1:15:20 while also finishing second in the 25-29 age group. Alan would set improve his half marathon by over a minute

Melissa Everard would place 27th in the women's race (8th in the 35-39 age group) en route to a 19:19. Melissa's time would help her finish in 64th place overall.

7th Annual Windy 25 Run - 3.3 mile run held at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas 3/29/17

Alejandro Belmares would place 4th overall (first in the 30-39 age group) at the Windy 25 Run. Alejandro would cover the long course in 17:58 on a day where wind gusts reached over 40 mph.

San Diego Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 3/12/17

Melissa Everard would continue her strong season, this time with a personal best in the half marathon. Melissa would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:26:53 capturing the age group win en route to 10th place in the women's race (74th overall).

Hot Chocolate 15k - 15k race at the Linq on the Las Vegas Strip 2/27/17

Johnny Lopez would make his return to the local racing scene at the Hot Chocolate 15K. Johnny would run the 9.3 mile course in 1:09:58 landing in 34th place overall. Johnny would be sixth in the 30-34 age group. Celeste Sportsman would compete in her second race of the weekend also doing the 15k. Celeste would PR by over 9 minutes running 1:23:30 placing 174th overall (15th in the 40-44 age group).

BMO Harris Bank Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Meza Arizona 2/26/17

Alejandro Belmares would travel to the land of the Valley of the Sun to compete in the Phoenix-Mesa Half Marathon. Alejandro would place 24th overall (7th in age group), covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:16:29. Alejandro would negative split the course running the last 10k in 34:12.

Celeste Sportsman would return to the trails at the Blood, Sweat, and Beers trail race by Desert Dash. Celeste would place 15th overall and land as the fifth female in 34:07. Celeste would be the top runner in the 40-44 age group.

Tokyo Marathon - Marathon in Tokyo Japan 2/26/17

Gamini Sugathadasa continued his marathon major quest by traveling to Tokyo and running his fourth major. Gamini's previous marathon performances earned him elite Masters entry into the race and it showed with a dominant run. Gamini would lower his PR by over 3 minutes covering the 26.2 mile course in 2:42:50

Melissa Everard would land on the podium in the 30-39 age group with her 1:28:40. Melissa's time would help her place 13th in the women's race (64th overall).

Melissa Everard would see her season debut include a personal record at the Resolution Run in San Diego. Melissa would run the 15k in 1:00:24 placing 3rd in the women's race (10th overall).

Las Vegas Track Club Championship 10K - 10K race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 1/7/17

NER kicked off the 2017 racing season at the Las Vegas Track Club Championship 10K. Alejandro Belmares would be the lone representative and would go on to place 5th overall (1st in 30-34 age group). Alejandro would cover the 6.2 mile course in 35:27, coming up 12 seconds short of a PR, improving his performance by 33 seconds.

Wobble Before You Gobble Thanksgiving Day 5k - 5k race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 11/24/16

NER would capture the top two spots at the Wobble Before you Gobble 5K. Alan Carreno would break tape in 17:28, Alejandro Belmares would follow 10 seconds later in 17:38.

Melissa Everard would return to the racing circuit post marathon with another age group win. Melissa would post 1:30:16 placing 4th in the women's race (27th overall).

7th Annual Las Vegas Heart and Stroke 5k - 5k race at Freemont Street 11/5/16

Gamini Sugathadasa returned to the local racing scene following a strong performance in Chicago at the 7th Annual Las Vegas Heart and Stroke 5K. Gamini would land on the podium in third place with a 17:22 performance.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon - Marathon in Chicago Illinois 10/09/16

NER would have three representatives at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Alejandro Belmares and Gamini Sugathadasa ran within one minute of each other, with Belmares posting 2:47:11, and Gamini 2:48:11. Alejandro would lower his marathon PR by 6 minutes while placing 266th overall and Gamini would be 15th in the Master's Division. On the women's side, Melissa Everard would have a record setting performance posting 3:05:30 en route to 19th place in the 40-44 age group (1349th overall).

34th Annual America's Finest City Half Marathon - Half Marathon in San Diego, CA 8/21/16

Taking on hills and humidity, Alejandro Belmares would compete at the 39th annual America's Finest City Half Marathon. Alejandro would place 34th overall (10th in age group) in 1:21:43. The course featured a two mile climb from mile 11 to the finish. In the 5k, Melissa Everard would be the lone representative placing 5th in the women's race (18th overall), in 20:48. The time would allow Melissa to capture the age group win.

20th Annual Legends of Cross Country 5K - 5K race held at Sunset Park 8/6/16

After skipping out in 2015, NER would have 3 three members compete at the Legends of Cross Country 5k. Alan Carreno and Alejandro Belmares would go 1-2 for the men placing 15th and 18th respectably. Alan would cover the 3.1 mile course in 16:50 (lowering his 5K PR), while Alejandro would cross the line in 17:07 (winning the 30-39 age group).

The women would be represented by Celeste Sportsman who would run her first true road race of the season. Celeste would be third in the 40-49 age group with her 29:59 finish.

Summerlin Frecracker 5K - 5K race held at Trails Park 7/4/16

Alejandro Belmares would continue the annual tradition of competing at the Summerlin Firecracker 5k. This year, Alejandro would place 4th overall in 17:18 earning the age group victory in the 30-34 age bracket.

21st Annual Race for the Cure 5K - 5K race held at Fremont Street Experience, NV 5/7/16

Running in memory of Johnny Hilario, Alejandro Belmares represented NER at the Race for the Cure held annually in Downtown Fremont. Alejandro would place 4th overall in 17:11, capturing the 30-34 age group victory.

120th Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race held in Boston, MA 4/18/16


In a repeat of the year before, Gamini would follow up his 5K PR with another personal record in the marathon. Gamini would place 600th overall in 2:46:02 and be the top finisher from the state of Nevada.

B.A.A. 5K - 5k race held in Boston, MA 4/16/16

NER would take Boston by storm. Competing in Boston for the first time since 2014, Alejandro Belmares would run the B.A.A. 5k and land in the top 100. Placing 65th overall, Alejandro would cover the 3.1 mile course in 16:45 and place 9th in the 30-34 age group. Not too far, Gamini Sugathadasa would begin his record setting weekend with a bang. Placing 74th overall, second in the 40-44 age group, Gamini would drop run a 14 second PR, finishing in 17:01.

6th Annual Windy 25 Run - 5K race held at the Cosmopolitan 4/9/16

Celeste Sportsman continued being the queen of the trails, this time placing 9th overall and 1st in the 40-49 age group at the Beginner's Luck Trail 5K. Celeste would cover McCullough Hills trail route in 32:52.

Desert Dash Blood, Sweat, & Beers Trail Run - Trail 5K at Bootleg Canyon, NV 2/27/16

Returning to the racing scene but on the doing so on the trails, Celeste Sportsman competed in the Blood, Sweat, Beers 5K. Placing 31st overall, Celeste would land on the podium for the 40-49 age group in 37:45.

Las Vegas Track Club 10k Championship - 10k race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 1/9/16

Alejandro Belmares would kick off the season with a bang at the Championship 10K With a time of 36:00, Alejandro would be the runner up behind JJ Santana. Alejandro's time would be 20 seconds faster than 2014, and 10 seconds off his best mark at this venue.

Holualoa Marathon - Marathon race held in Tucson, Az 12/13/15

Chris Clark would continue his strong running performances, this time at the marathon level. Chris would place 91st overall in 3:26:40, earning 91st place overall, and reducing his PR by more than 25 minutes. Chris would be the third finisher from Las Vegas and take 6th in the 25-29 age group.

Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis - 5K race held at Tivoli Village 12/12/15

Alejandro Belmares would collect his second win of the season by breaking tape on windy day at the Jingle Bell 5k. Alejandro's time of 18:03 would be more than 30 seconds ahead of the runner up. The victory would be the team's fifth of the season.

Jus Run Turkey Rock 10K - 10K race at Parkway Tavern 11/26/15

Chris Clark would capture the team's fourth win of the season by breaking tape at the Turkey Rock 10K. Chris would cover the 6.2 mile course in 37:10, en route to lowering his 10K PR. It would be the second time this season, Chris would capture a victory on the roads

Las Vegas Track Club Turkey Trot 5K - 5K race held at South Premium Outlets 11/21/15

Returning to the roads of Vegas, Alejandro Belmares would place 4th overall at the annual Turkey Trot event. Alejandro would cover the 3 mile course in 16:21 en route to winning the 25-29 age group. This would mark the third time that Alejandro would win the age group, doing so in 2011 and 2012.

Geico Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll 10K - 10K race at Las Vegas Strip 11/15/15

Chris Clark would be the lone representative during the rock 'n' roll weekend at the strip, competing in the 10K. Chris would place 11th overall in 38:06, en route to capturing the 25-29 age group win.

TCS New York City Marathon - Marathon race held in New York City 11/1/15

The Big Apple would mark the return to the marathon for Alejandro Belmares following a 19th month hiatus. Alejandro would place 757th overall in 2:59:33. It would mark the third sub 3 performance (out of out four attempts) for Alejandro. Alejandro would finish as the second runner from Nevada, as well as earning 126th in the 25-29 age group and being the 704th male to cross the finish.

45th Annual GMAA Green Mountain Half Marathon - Half Marathon race held in South Hero, Vt 10/11/15


Completing the double half quest, Alan Carreno would run the Green Mountain Half Marathon in Vermont. Alan's time of 1:32:53 would land him in 23rd place (6th in the 20-29 age group).

Hartford Half Marathon - Half Marathon race held in Hartford, Ct 10/10/15

Going across the country, Alan Carreno would embark on another half double, this time commencing at the Hartford Half Marathon in Connecticut. Alan placed 32nd overall with a time of 1:21:08, landing him 10th in the 25-29 age group.

42nd Annual BMW Berlin Marathon - Marathon race held in Berlin, Germany 9/27/15

Home of the world record, Berlin offers runners a chance for fast times. Gamini Sugathadasa would travel to Germany seeking to continue his dominating performances at the full distance. Gamini would run a 3:04:14 landing him in 316th place in the male 45-49 age group (2183rd overall). It would be Gamini's first race since Boston and recovering from a stress fracture that sidelined him from May till August.

Ventura Half Marathon - Half Marathon race held in Ventura, CA 9/13/15


At the Ventura Half Marathon, course discrepancies would throw off the race for all runners competing int he half marathon. Runners would wind up running an additional .7 of a mile. Course times would be adjusted reflecting the added distance. Alan Carreno would be the team's top finisher in 1:17:03, landing in 7th place. Alejandro Belmares would place 11th in 1:20:32 while Arc Rufo would cover the course in 1:43:27 taking 85th overall.

9th Annual Calico Racing Full Moon Midnight Run - 10K race held in Rachel, NV 8/29/15

After 3 failed attempts of breaking tape, Alejandro Belmares finally achieved the feat at the ET 10K held in Rachel Nevada. Posting a 37:52, Alejandro would win by a comfortable margin, securing his first victory since 2011. It would be the team's third win of the season.

38th Annual Las Vegas Track Club's Notch Run - 4M race at Mount Charleston 7/18/15

Returning to take on the elevation and the mountains, Alejandro Belmares would return to compete at the 38th Annual Las Vegas Track Club's Notch Run. For the 3rd consecutive time, NER would place 4th on the men's side. Alejandro Belmares would cover the 4 mile hill race in 31:09, capturing the 25-29 age group win. The performance would be similar to 2013, where Alejandro would also place 4th and win the age group. The course features an 8% grade climb that eventually increases to 12% at 8,000 feet above sea level. This year on top of the climb, runners dealt with 20 mph wind gusts.

Summerlin Firecracker 5K - 5K race held at Trails Park 7/4/15 

Alejandro Belmares would be the lone representative at the annual 4th of July event held in Summerlin. Alejandro would place 4th overall in 17:50 en route to capturing the age group win in the 25-29 category.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Series #2 - 3200m race at Green Valley High School 6/23/15

Taking on the heat, Alan Carreno would return to the oval and lower his 3200m PR yet again, this time by 5 seconds. Alan would run 10:18 taking third place overall.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Series # 1 - 3200m race at William Pearson Community Center 6/9/15

Continuing a summer tradition for fast raced, NER returned to the oval celebrating four years of existence. Alan Carreno would place fourth overall en route to a new 3200m PR in 10:23. Max Skidanov would race in the second heat, placing second (18th overall) in 14:18.

34th Annual Dam 2 Dam Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Des Moines, Iowa 5/30/15

Co-Founder Tim Reilly would return to the states and run a personal best at the 34th annual Dam 2 Dam Half. Two weeks after placing 5th in Croatia, Tim would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:20:30 placing 60th overall (9th in 30-35 Age Group).

Desert Sky Adventures Wildland Fire Awareness Trail Runs - Half Marathon Race & 5K at Red Rock Canyon 5/30/15

At the Wildland Fire Awareness Trail Half Marathon Gabe Dunkle returned to the racing circuit placing 25th overall in 2:39:43. Sensai Robert Davis ran 2:42:35 placing 31st. The course featured an elevation gain of more than 2,000 feet in the first 8 miles of the half. 

Celeste Sportsman would compete in the 5K placing 7th overall (5th woman) in 32:30.

Dubrovnik International Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Dubrovnik Croatia 5/10/15

Going across international lines once more, Co-Founder Tim Reilly, would take the NER colors to Croatia at the inaugural Dubrovnik International Half Marathon held in Croatia. Tim would place 5th overall (2nd in the 23-34 age group) in 1:26:28, finishing as the top American.

4th Annual UMC Hibben Run - 3.25 Mi race at Palmeto Islands County Park, Mt. Pleasant, SC 5/2/15

Traveling to South Carolina, for the second time this season, NER took on forest and more running a cross country course in Mount Pleasant. Alejandro Belmares would place 2nd overall on a 3.25 mile course in 18:25.

20th Annual Race for the Cure - 5K race on Freemont Street, 5/2/15

Arc Rufo would be the lone representative at the 20th Annual Race for the Cure 5K. Arc would place 42nd overall in 23:44. Ar'c performance would land him 5th in the 25-29 age group.

119th Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race in Boston, MA 4/20/15

Following his PR in the 5K, Gamini would follow suit in the marathon just two days later. Traveling the route from Hopkinton to Bolyston Street, Gamini would post a 2:48:15 to drop his marathon PR by a minute and a half. Gamini's performance would place him 749th overall (54th in 40-44 age group) and make him the 723rd male to cross the finish.

2015 B.A.A. 5K - 5K Race at the Boston Commons in Boston, MA 4/18/15

Gamini Sugathadasa would kick off his Boston Marathon weekend with fireworks. Competing at the B.A.A. 5K Gamini would set the tone for what was to come with a record setting performance. Gamini would place 3rd overall in the 40-44 age group en route to a new 17:14 PR performance. Gamini would place 73rd overall and be the 59th male to cross the finish line.

5th Annual Summerlin Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Downtown Summerlin 4/12/15

The 5th Annual Summerlin Half Marathon would once more have NER make a showing. Alejandro Belmares would place 4th overall in 1:23:25. Alejandro's performance would help claim the 25-29 age group.

Las Vegas Track Club Celebrate Education Run - 8K race at Sunset Park 4/4/15

NER would have three members compete at the LVTC's Celebrate Education 8K looking to stay in contention for the Championship Series. Chris Clark would be the team's top finisher, crossing the line in 30:06, 8th place overall (2nd in 20-29 age group). Thomas Johnson would be 15th overall in 32:38 earning 4th in the 20-29 age group. The women would be represented by Celeste Sportsman, who took 64th overall (4th in 40-49 age group) in 47:04.

5th Annual Windy 25 Run - 3.3 mile race at Cosmopolitan 3/28/15

Competing as a team for the fourth team in team history, NER would return to the Cosmo for the race that NER has been featured at in previous years. Alan Carreno would be the team's top finisher crossing the fine in second place (17:31). Chris Clark and Alejandro Belmares would follow in 4th and 5th place respectably running 18:06 and 18:21. Team Sensai would capture the 40-49 age group with his 22:03, earning him 18th overall. Max Skidanov would be 25th place in 23:11 (7th in 30-39 age group) and Arc Rufo would cover the course in 27:59 (66th overall).

This would be the first year that NER would not field a women's team as well as not NOT win the event in the four years of team involvement

2015 Publix Georgia Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Atlanta, GA 3/22/15

Going for the double, Alan Carreno would run another a half a day after placing 4th, this time in Georgia. Alan would place 8th overall in 1:22:43, good for 3rd in the 25-29 age group. Alan would pass three people in the final meters to land inside of the top 10.

5th Annual City of Seneca Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Seneca, SC 3/21/15

Alan Carreno would travel across state lines to compete in the half marathon in the city of Seneca just missing on a podium finish. Alan would place 4th overall in 1:18:55, four seconds behind the third place finisher.

CBRE Cares - Catch a Leprechaun 5K - 5K race at Tule Springs 3/14/15 

Thomas Johnson would make his season debut earning a podium finish by placing third overall. Thomas' 19:11 finish would hold off former member Gavin Kakol who placed fourth in 19:51.

San Diego Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in San Diego, CA 3/8/15

Melissa Everard would return to the racing circuit 8 months after giving birth to her daughter in a big way. Shattering her PR, Melissa would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:29:24, placing 88th overall. Melissa would be 16th in the women's standings and 4th in the 35-39 age group.

Strip on the Strip Run - 5K race at Town Square 3/7/15


NER would earn their second win of the season and first event in six months. Chris Clark would capture the victory at the Strip on the Strip 5K in 18:36, finishing nearly 30 seconds in front of the runner up. It would be Chris' fourth career win since being a member of NER.

Running From An Angel Marathon - Marathon race at Lake Mead Recreational Area 1/10/15

Alan Carreno's marathon debut would help NER kick off the 2015 season with a win. Alan would place first overall in 3:08:12, finishing 7 minutes ahead of the runner up. Alan would however fall just short of earning a Boston Qualifying time, missing the 3:05 cut off mark.

Las Vegas Track Club 10k Championship - 10k race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 1/10/15

The 2015 racing season's inaugural event would be the LVTC's 10K Championship once more. Joe Kennedy would return to the scene following almost a two year absence and be the lone representative. Joe would place 16th overall (1st male in 20-29 age group) in 45:52.

California International Marathon - Marathon race in Sacramento, CA 12/7/14

The racing season would end with big fireworks as Gamini Sugathadasa would compete in one of the fastest courses in the nation at the CIM Marathon. Gamini would wrap up his season with another PR capping off the cycle (PR's in the 5K, 10K, half and full). Covering the 26.2 mile course in 2:49:48, Gamini would place 206th overall (161st male), as well as finishing 18th in the 40-44 age group. Even more impressive would be Gamini's 38th place finish in the Master's rank. Gamini's new PR would also land him a spot in the 2017 Boston, thus earning his second BQ

Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll Marathon - Half Marathon race on the Las Vegas Vegas Strip 11/16/14

The Rock 'n' Roll half would be the last major event of the calendar season in 2014 for NER. With only four members partaking in the race, it would be the smallest team participation in NER's history.

Despite missing more than six weeks worth of training due to injury, Alejandro Belmares would be the team's top finisher placing 38th overall (15th in the 25-29 age group) in 1:19:06. This capped off a two week span where Alejandro's only running would be at racing events (New York and Vegas). Gamini Sugathadasa would be the next to cross the finish line in 1:24:53 as he paced the 1:25 group. Gamini would still manage to place 88th overall and 16th overall in the 40-44 age group. Arc Rufo would set another PR, this time posting 1:34:49 (315th overall [57th in 25-29 age group]). Celeste Sportsman would represent the women, running 2:31:21.

New York Road Road Runner's Dash to the Finish Run - 5k race in New York City, NY 11/1/14

Alejandro Belmares would travel to the East Coast for the second time this season, only this time to run the TCS New York City Marathon's 5K. Alejandro would place 82nd overall (30th in the 25-29 age group). The race would feature elite runners from all over the East Coast, as well as teams from New York and New Jersey.

Danny Gans Champions for Life Run - 5K race at Town Square 10/24/14

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone member to compete at the Danny Gans 5K. Gamini would place 6th overall (2nd Masters) en route to a 17:56 finish.

2nd Annual National Nurses Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Red Rock Canyon 10/11/14

Seeking to land on the podium and walk away with prize money, NER would have two members compete in the half marathon. Raymond Fong would be the team's top finisher in 1:17:27 taking 7th overall. Alejandro Belmares would follow in 8th, covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:17:55. Raymond and Alejandro would land 2-3 in the male 20-29 age group.

In the 5K, Arc Rufo would be only team member competing. Arc would place 4th overall in 19:06, setting a new PR. Arc would go on to capture the 20-29 age group with his record performance.

31st Annual Las Vegas Track Club Forest Challenge - 11Mi race at Mt. Charleston 9/20/14

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone representative at the LVTC Forest Challenge that would return to Mt. Charleston, following last year's forest fires. The course would be featured on the Bristlecone Trail, which features a long gradual climb before reaching the turnaround. Gamini would place 3rd overall in 1:27:24.

Ryno Running Red Rock 5K - 5K race at Red Rock Country Club 9/20/14

At the Ryno Running Red Rock 5K NER would have two representatives. Alan Carreno would be the lone male, placing third overall in 19:00. For the women, Priscilla Ortiz would be 10th overall (2nd female finisher), in a thrilling photo finish.

Desert Dash Henderson Trail Classic - 5K & 10K races at McCullough Hills Trail, Henderson 9/06/14

At the Henderson Trail Classic NER would have two runners capture wins in their respective distances. Thomas Johnson would win the trail 5K in 24:03, finishing nearly three minutes ahead of the runner up. In the 10K Alan Carreno would defend his title from a year before, this time doing so in 47:45. Alan would win by 40 seconds.

Rock 'n' Roll Virginia Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Virginia Beach, VA 8/31/14


Priscilla Ortiz would travel to the east coast and compete in her first half marathon outside of California and Nevada. Priscilla would finish 11th in her age group (282nd place overall), crossing the line 1:44:02.

Disneyland Race Weekend - 5k, 10k, Half Marathon in Anaheim, CA 8/29/14-8/31/14

Gamini Sugathadasa would complete the trifecta of distance running by taking on 3 races in 3 days. Gamini would spend Labor Day weekend in Anaheim kicking off with the 5K. Gamini would post a 18:57. On Saturday, Gamini would run the 10K and earn a place on the podium. Covering the 6.2 mile course in 36:39, Gamini would be third overall. Sunday would bring the final race, the half marathon. Gamini would place 13th overall in 1:23:27 (2nd in 40-44 age group), finishing as the top runner from the state of Nevada.

8th Annual Calico Racing's ET Full Moon Midnight Run - 10K race in Rachel, NV 8/10/14


Traveling to the land of little green men, Alejandro Belmares would compete in the ET 10K for the third year in a row. Alejandro would be the runner up (much like the previous two years), this time crossing in 35:35. It would be Alejandro's fastest time on the ET course and his second fastest 10K. Both Alejandro and the winner of the race (Pedro Rios) went under the previous course record of 36:27.

Las Vegas Track Club's Police & Firefighters Run - 5K race at Sunset Park 8/09/14


Raymond Green would help capture the team's third win of the season with his performance at the Police Games. Raymond would cruise to the victory covering the 3.1 mile course in 17:44, finishing 20 seconds in front of the runner up.

18th Annual Legends of Cross Country 5K Run - 5K race at Sunset Park 8/02/14


After two years in Boulder City, the Legends of Cross Country 5K returned to the Las Vegas Valley. The new location of the event would be at Sunset Park, as runners would get an opportunity to compete on the NIAA's Regional and State course.

NER would only muster four runners leaving them out of the team competition which required a minimum of six participants. Ray Fong would be the team's top finisher, placing 8th overall in 17:18 (3rd in the 20-29 age group). Alejandro Belmares would place 20th (6th in the 20-29 age group) in 18:11, with Gamini Sugathadasa in 24th (18:25 and first male masters) and Chris Clark in 25th (18:28 and 7th in 20-29 age group) respectably. Max Skidanov would be the final member to cross the line doing so in 21:39 (77th overall and 9th in 30-39 age group).

Amy Leonard would be the lone female representative competing in the open race. Amy would be 158th overall in 28:18 but go one to capture the 40-49 age group.

Idaho Falls Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Idaho Falls, Idaho 7/26/14


Alan Carreno would compete in his second official half marathon, doing so across state lines. Alan would place sixth overall in 1:25:47. Alan's performance would help him capture the 20-24 age group.

37th Annual Las Vegas Track Club's Notch Run - 4m race at Lee Canyon, Mount Charleston 7/19/14


The Notch Run returned to the Las Vegas racing circuit following last year's forest fires. NER would yield a small team to take on the climb, seeking to become kings of the mountains. The course features an 8% grade climb that eventually increases to 12% at 8,000 feet above sea level. Alan Carreno would be the top finisher, crossing the line in 30:08, good for fourth overall (1st in 20-24 age group). 12th place would be captured by Gamini Sugathadasa running 32:58. Max Skidanov would take 46th overall in 43:26, all while pushing his daughter's running stroller the entire time. The women would be represented by Amy Leonard and Celeste Sportsman. Amy would win the 40-44 age group in 50:55, while Celeste would place 5th in the same group in 55:01.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Track Series #2 - 3200m race at Green Valley High School 6/24/14


Competing in the second event of the summer track series, NER's members would continue the tradition of running faster times for a third year in a row. Gamini Sugathadasa would place 3rd overall in 10:52, while Alejandro Belmares would be two places back in 11:01. Thomas Johnson would place 10th overall in 11:56. The women would once more have a lone representative, this time in Betty Cook's 14:59 performance.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Track Series #1 - 3200m race at Durango High School 6/10/14


NER would celebrate its third year of existence by kicking off the summer on the track. Chris Clark would be the team's top finisher in the two mile event crossing the finish in 10:53 (7th overall) followed by Gamini Suagathadasa (8th overall) in 10:54. Alejandro Belmares would place 12th overall in 11:10. Jason Yamamoto and Max Skidanov would run 12:38 & 12:39 (21st and 22nd overall)., with Arc Rufo rounding up the men at 15:03. Amy Leonard would be the lone female representative posting 15:33.

10th Annual Ronald McDonald House Runnin' for the House 5K - 5K race at Ronald McDonald House of Charities 5/17/14


NER would place five runners in the top ten at the Run for the House 5K and earn a age division sweep for the second year in a row. Ray Fong would be the team's top finisher coming through in 16:40 en route to third place. Alan Carreno would be fourth overall in 17:03, followed by Gamini Sugathadasa in sixth (17:41). Alejandro Belmares would come through two places later in 18:02, and then Thomas Johnson in 18:54). Jason Yamamoto would earn a PR in the 5K crossing in 20:18 (17th overall), as well as Arc Rufo in 21:12 (23rd overall). Johnny Lopez would be 25th overall in 21:36 followed by David Gonzalez 46th overall (23:22).

The women would be led by Theresa Guerra's third overall finish in the women's race. Theresa would cross the line in 20:32. Priscilla Ortiz would be the fourth finisher in 22:04 and Crystelle Schutlz 6th in 23:58.

10th Annual US Bank OC Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Orange County 5/4/14


Jason Yamamoto would compete in Southern California posting a new PR at the OC Half Marathon. Jason would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:35:28, capturing 189th overall (33rd in the 30-34 age group).

19th Annual Race for the Cure - 3.6mi race in Fremont Street Experience 5/3/14


On a day that featured heat and an extra half mile, NER had a solid performance at the Race for the Cure. Gamini Sugathada would be the team's top finisher in 8th place (21:21) winning the master's age group again. Johnny Lopez would take 21st overall 24:20. Ginja Leonard would be the lone female ninja, completing the race in 29:08 for 59th overall.

4th Annual Summerlin Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Summerlin 4/12/14


Team sensai Robert Davis would be the lone representative at the Summerlin Half Marathon. Crossing the line in 34th, the sensai would post a 1:39:28.

2014 XTERRA Lake Las Vegas Race - 21K & 5K race at Lake Las Vegas 4/12/14


Taking on the trails, Gabe Dunkle would compete in his first official trail race, taking on the half marathon. Gabe would finish 47th overall in 2:04:44. Ginja Leonard crossed in 85th 2:33:29. In the 5K Celeste Sportsman would post 35:13 good for 35th place overall, earning 2nd in the 40-44 age group.

4th Annual Windy 25 Memorial Run - 3.2 mi race at the Cosmopolitan 4/05/14


For the third straight year, NER would dominate this race and walk away with its second win of the season.

Yielding almost a complete roster, 14 members would show up, several earning PRs. NER would have five runners in the top ten. Alan Carreno would pave the way on the men's side winning the event in 17:16. Thomas Johnson would take second in 17:25 followed by Raymond Green in fourth (17:38) and Alejandro Belmares in fifth (17:39). Chris Clark would round out the top 10, finishing in 18:38. Jason Yamamoto would PR in the event, taking 17th overall in 20:27. Two places behind Max Skidanov would also PR in 20:36. Sensai Robert Davis would lead a trio of NER finishers taking 21st overall in 21:00, while Gabe Dunkle would be two seconds back for 22nd overall in 21:02. Johnny Razo would be 23rd in 21:18. Johnny Lopez placed 26th in 21:56 and Arc Rufo would earn 39th in 24:54.

The women's side would land second and third overall as Theresa Guerra would be the runner up in 21:16 and Priscilla Ortiz in 21:24. Carmen Barber would be the 11th in 25:30.

Las Vegas Track Club's Celebrate Education 8K - 8K race at Sunset Park 3/29/14


Four members would toe the line for the LVTC Celebrate Education's 8K race hosted at Susnet Park. Ray Fong would capture his first victory as a member of NER as well as the team's first win of the season. Fong would cross the line in 27:50, finishing nearly 20 seconds in front of the runner up. Gamini Sugathadasa would place 4th overall and capture the Master's age group in 29:31. Johnny Lopez would be 4th in the 30-39 age group with his 36:31 time (21st overall place).

Betty Vance would take fifth in the women's race (24th overall), in 36:59 landing her in 4th in the Master's division.

UNLV Winter All-Comer's Meet #2 - 800m race at UNLV Track and Field 2/22/14


Competing in his second track meet of the season, Thomas Johnson would run the 800m at UNLV, finishing in second place posting a 2:03.33, just 3 seconds behind Ryan Ripley who won the event.

Las Vegas Track Club's Fat Boy Run - 5K race at Bunker Park 2/16/14


The Fat Boy 5K would feature several NER members competing and placing in their respective age groups. The race is notorious for using a time handicap which allows runners with higher weight to start first. The "Clydesdales" would begin with a 6 minute head start, before the "slims and trims" starting from a scratch time.

With this set up, Johnny Lopez would place 4th overall (using a handicapped time) coming through in 16:45. Johnny would also win the 30-34 age group. Gamini Sugathadasa would cross the line in 17:31 capturing 7th place and the master's age division. Sensai Robert Davis using a handicapped time would come through in 19:26, taking 18th and 3rd in the 41-49 age group. Gabe Dunkle would be two places behind in 19:50 (handicapped time) for 6th in the 30-39 age group. Ginja Amy Leonard would win the 40-49 age group with her 22:24 (handicapped time). Arc Rufo would win 2nd in the 20-29 age group covering the 3.1 mile course in 22:57. Carmen Barber would be the final member to cross in 41st overall in 23:02 (handicapped time) second in the 30-39 age group.

13th Annual Walk for Wishes Run - 5K race in Town Square 2/1/14


Taking on the elements NER's "Masters" runners would officially represent, walking away with hardware. Gamini Sugathadasa would be the runner up in 17:39, crossing the line 11 seconds after the winner. David Gonzales would take second in the 45-49 age group (13th place overall), just missing out on going under 21 minutes, as he finished in 21:03. Alan Carreno would also compete in the event as well but would not be officially timed.

PF Changs Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Phoenix, Arizona 1/19/14



David Gonzales would kick off his 2014 racing season with a bang in Tempe, Arizona at the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Half Marathon. Dave would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:43:03 crossing as the 21st Nevada finisher. Dave would place 854th overall (66th in the 45-49 age group).

Chefs for Kids Run - 5K race at Bunker Park 1/18/14


Gamini Sugathadasa would continue his dominant form earning yet another PR, this time in the 5K. Placing 5th overall in 17:31, Gamini would go on to capture the Master's age group win once again. This final PR, marks Gamini's fourth personal best in every racing distance from 5K to marathon.

Las Vegas Track Club's Championship 10K - 10K race at Kellog Zaher Park 1/04/14


The 2014 season would kick off with the sprint distance for all long distance runners. The Las Vegas Track Club's Championship 10K would be the first event of the season. NER would land 5-7th place at the event led by Alejandro Belmares placing 5th overall in 36:18. Alejandro would go on to capture the 25-29 age group. Seven seconds back, Gamini Sugathadasa would place 6th overall en route to winning the masters title. Eddie Meneses would cross in 37:04 in 7th place, winning the 20-24 age group. Johnny Razo's 26th place would also land him as the second male in the 25-29 age group, collecting a PR in the process finishing in 44:03. Team Sensai Robert Davis crossed in 29th overall (1st in 40-44 age group) in 46:36. Arc Rufo would also PR in the event covering the 6.2 mile course in 47:08 taking 3rd in the 25-29 age group. Ginja Leonard would be lone female representative finishing in 40th overall (3rd in female masters) in 53:50.

15th Annual Come Run with Santa Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 12/21/13


Thomas Johnson would place second overall at the Come Run with Santa Run hosted by the Las Veags Running Team. Thomas would cover the 3.1 mile course in 17:02. Melissa Everard would place 3rd in the female 35-39 age group in 31:48, placing 94th overall.

California International Marathon - Marathon race in Sacramento, CA 12/08/13


Gamini Sugathadasa's marathon debut would be filled with immense success capped off with a 2015 Boston Marathon qualifying standard. Gamini would cover the 26.2 mile course in 2:53:49 landing him 20th overall in the 40-44 male age group. Gamini would go on to place 213th overall, finishing as the 7th runner from Nevada. He would break the Boston Marathon standard by more than 20 minutes in his marathon debut.

Las Vegas Track Club's Run Off the Turkey Run - 5M race at BruceTrent Park 11/30/13


Competing for the fourth time in 2 weeks, Gamini Sugathadasa would place 4th overall in the second to last Championship Series event. Gamini's time of 29:54 would capture the 40-44 age group, just missing the podium by four seconds. Arc Rufo would take second in the 25-29 age group crossing the line in 35:50. The ladies would be well represented as Priscilla Ortiz would win the women's race in 35:51. The win would be Priscilla's second of the year and the team's 16th. Celeste Sportsman would be second in the 40-44 age group posting a 45:32.

12th Annual Catch the Gobbler Run - 5K race at Bunker Park 11/28/13



At the 12th Annual Catch a Gobbler 5K, the racing would continue for NER members. Raymond Green, Gamini Sugathadasa and Arc Rufo would take on the pavement once more. Raymond and Gamini five days after running in the turkey trot. Raymond would place 3rd overall in 16:49. Gamini would capture the masters title yet again, this time doing so with his 9th place 17:38 mark. Arc Rufo would continue his PR ways running 21:14 and placing 3rd in the 25-29 age group.

33rd Annual Las Vegas Running Team's Turkey Trot - 10K/5K race at South Las Vegas Premium Outlets 11/23/13

NER would be back to work a week after running the Las Vegas Marathon. Competing in the 10K and racing for the third week in a row, Gamini Sugathadasa would set another PR. Gamini would place third overall in 37:07.

In the 5K Raymond Green would narrowly miss out on the victory, finishing 10 seconds behind the winner in 16:27 capturing second place overall.

Zappos Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon - Half Marathon race on Las Vegas Strip 11/17/13


Competing in the annual Las Vegas Marathon, Gamini Sugathadasa would be the team's finisher in the event. Placing 25th overall in 1:19:59, Gamini would be place 2nd in the male 40-44 age group. Ray Fong would be a pacer for the 1:30:00 group, crossing the line in 1:29:37. Johnny Razo would be the next finisher, crossing the line in 1:35:19, earning 286th place overall and setting a new PR. Johnny would place 31st overall in the 25-29 age group. David Gonzales would post a 1:44:24 taking 762nd place. David would be the 67th finisher in the 45-49 age group. Arc Rufo would be the final team member to cross in 1:46:30, good for 935th overall. Arc would 93rd finisher in the 25-29 age group.

David Gonzales would be the lone representative at the Las Vegas Heart Run 5K earning a podium finish. David would place fourth overall in 21:01 (3rd male finisher). David would also capture the 40-49 age group with his performance.

Danny Gans Champions for Life Run - 5K race at Town Square 10/19/13

NER would have a strong showing led by age group victories across the board from every competing member. The men would be led by newcomer Raymond Green 5th overall finish in 16:46. Raymond would go on to capture the 35-39 age group with his performance. Seventh and eighth place overall would go to Thomas Johnson and Alan Carreno running 16:58 & 16:59. Both Thomas and Alan would win their age divisions, Thomas the 19-20 age group and Alan the 20-24 age group. Gamini Sugathadasa would win the Master's title taking 12th in 18:03.

The women would be led by Melissa Everard 5th overall female finish in 20:49. Melissa's performance would earn her the 30-34 age group. Priscilla Ortiz would be the 6th overall female in 21:24 winning the 20-24 age group. Betty Cook would collect another Master's title, this time in 22:13. Celeste Sportsman would earn the 40-44 age group with her 28:34, landing her as the 22nd overall female.

Traveling to the Twin Cities, Melissa Everard would run her third marathon representing NER. Melissa would cover the 26.2 mile course in 3:15:08 finishing 25th overall in the 30-34 age group placing 584th overall in a race featuring nearly 8,900 runners.

30th Annual Forest Challenge Run - 15K race at Flamingo Arroyo Trail 10/05/13

NER would land five runners in the top 15, in route to a dominant showing at the Forest Challenge. Allen Carreno would lead the men's roster finishing second overall in 57:30. Gamini Sugathadasa would be twenty seconds behind in third place overall. Johnny Razo would make his official team debut covering the 9.3 mile course in 1:08:32. Johnny would finish second overall in the 25-29 age group.

On the women's side the NER ladies would go 1-2 as Priscilla Ortiz would capture her first win of the season (team's 15th) crossing the line in 1:04:31. Betty Cook would follow three minutes later in 1:07:41.

Calico Racing's Twilight Ascent Run - Half Marathon race at Red Rock 9/28/13

Competing for the first time in 13 months, co-founder Tim Reilly returned from his services overseas, to earn an age group win. Running in the Twilight Half Marathon, Tim would place sixth overall in 1:33:06. Celeste Sportsman would run her first half marathon since her return from the DL. Celeste would cover the 13.1 mile course in 2:55:35 earning 154th overall.

The Third Annual Teddy Bear Run - 2.97M race at the Tivoli Village 9/28/13

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone male representative for NER at the United Healthcare Teddy Bear Run. Gamini would run the 2.97 course in 17:20, finishing third overall. On the women's side, Priscilla Ortiz would also take third overall, doing so in 20:35.

The Midnight Cowboy Run - 5K race at the Roadrunner Saloon 9/14/13

Competing in her second event of the day, Celeste Sportsman would place fourth overall in the 40-44 age group. Celeste would go on to place 39th overall in 34:06 finishing 14th overall amongst the women.

23rd Annual Candlelighters Race for Our Kids Run - 5K race in Exploration Park 9/14/13

Two weeks after running a half marathon in Anaheim, Gamini Sugathadasa would return to the racing circuit. This time Gamini would place 3rd overall in 18:01, three seconds behind the runner up. Johnny Lopez would also run, covering the 3.1 mile course in 21:22, good for third overall in the 30-34 age group.

Calico Racing's Sympathy for the Devil Run - 5K race in Henderson, NV 9/14/13

Competing in her first event since suffering a bone bruise on her knee, Celeste Sportsman placed 3rd in the female 40-49 AG in 37:56. Celeste would finish 29th overall in a race that featured rolling hills on an out back course.

3rd Annual Ryno Running's Red Rock Run - 5K race in Red Rock Country Club, NV 9/14/13


Competing for the second week in a row, Alan Carreno would take 5th place tihs time. Alan would place 5th overall covering the 3.1 mile course in 17:44. Alan's time would allow him place second in the 18-25 age group.

1st Annual Henderson Trail Classic Run - 10K race in McCollough Hills Trail, NV 9/7/13

Alan Carreno would make his official NER debut and help the team capture its 14th win of the season. Alan would capture the 10K event in 41:18 finishing 3 minutes ahead of the runner up.

Disneyland Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Anahiem, CA 9/1/13

Running in the happiest place on earth NER would narrowly miss being in the half marathon leaderboard. Gamini Sugathadasa would capture the masters division in 1:21:31 taking 11th place overall. Gabriel Dunkle would also compete taking 351st overall in 1:44:17. Gabe would go on to place 45th in his age group.

Calico Racing's ET Full Moon 10K - 10K race in Rachel, NV 8/18/13

Landing three runners in the top 10, NER successfully completed the racing weekend claiming the team's 13th win of the season. Thomas Johnson and Alejandro Belmares would go 1-2 like the year before, this time in 37:48 & 37:56. Both runners would finish more than a minute and a half ahead of the third place finisher. Arc Rufo would capture the male 20-29 age group in 49:02 with his 8th place finish.

12th Annual Police & Fire Department Run - 10K/5K race at Las Vegas South Premium Outlets 8/17/13

NER would capture win number 12 of the season behind Melissa Everard's performance. Melissa would run and capture the win in the 10K, successfully defending her title from last season. Placing 13th overall with a time of 43:23, Melissa would cruise to the win finishing more than two minutes ahead of the runner up. The win would be Melissa's third of the season. On the men's side, Gamini Sugathadasa would take 4th overall in 37:31. Gamini's time would not only help him capture the masters age division, but be a PR as well.

In the 5K Ray Fong would cover the 3.1 mile course in 17:04 en route to placing 2nd overall. Ray would be nipped at the line by the winner who crossed in 16:59 who would compete in the police and fire department divisions for the event. Both runners would finish more than a minute and a half ahead of the 3rd place finisher.

Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Dublin Ireland 8/4/13

Melissa Everard would help NER make its debut in the old world, competing internationally for the second time since joining the roster in April. Melissa's travels would land her in the emerald isle for the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon. Placing 388th overall (12th in 35-39 AG) with a time a of 1:31:31, Melissa would miss her PR by 17 seconds. Melissa would finish as the 47th woman in the inaugural event.

17th Annual Legends of Cross Country Run - 5K race at Veterans Memorial Park, Boulder City NV 8/3/13

NER would seek to capture the title that has eluded the team in its two year existence. In 2011 NER failed to yield a complete team, in 2012 NER finished second overall in the seeded team competition.

Five members would compete in the open race, with Carmen Barber being the lone representative for the women. The men would be led by newcomer Johnny Razo's 21:50 (20th overall (2nd in 20-29 age group). Johnny Lopez would capture 26th overall (3rd in 20-29) in 22:13. Max Skidanov would take 28th (22:37) followed by Gabe Dunkle's 22:47 for 32nd overall. In the women's race, Carmen Barber placed 20th overall in 26:36 capturing 2nd in the 30-39 age group.

The seeded race featured a full roster for the men, however the women were deplete as only four women would toe the line. Thomas Johnson would be the top male placing 7th overall (3rd in 15-19 age group) in 17:31. 11-13th would be captured by NER members as Ray Fong would cross the line in 18:08, Eddie Meneses and Chris Clark would have a photo finish in 18:23. Alejandro Belmares would be 15th in 18:31. Gamini Sugathadasa would capture the 40-49 age group in 18:51, placing 22nd overall. The final two men would be Matt Shelton in 25th overall (19:31) and Michael Johnston in 20:42 good for 34th.

Theresa Guerra led the women placing 5th overall in 21:19 (3rd in 20-29). Dagny Signorelli and Crystelle Schultz would be 11th and 13th coming through in 22:05 and 22:54. Betty Cook would also capture the 40-49 age group, doing so by placing 15th overall in 23:43.   

When all was said and done, NER would finish third overall in the seeded team competition, falling to Coach's All Star's and Red Rock Running Company.

Chicago Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Chicago, Il 7/21/13

Gamini Sugathadasa would take the NER banner to Chicago once again, doing so in the half marathon. In the past, co-founder Tim Reilly represented NER in Chicago prior to serving in Afghanistan while on active duty. Gamini would take 4th in the male 40-45 age division en route to placing 62nd overall with a 1:23:08. Gamini would be the first runner from the state of Nevada, continuing a tradition for NER out of state performances.

Las Vegas Track Club's Low Key Run - 4M/2M race at Sunrise Picnic Area 7/20/13

NER would capture its eleventh win of the season at the 4M Low Key Sunrise Picnic Race hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club. Crystelle Schultz would place 14th overall but go on to capture the women's race in 30:37.

The 2 mile race would be won by Thomas Johnson's 10:40 time.

Las Vegas Track Club Low Key Run - 5K race at Bruce Trent Park 7/6/13

Competing for the second time in two days, Matt Shelton would place 3rd overall at the low key run hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club in 19:12. Crystelle Schultz would run for the third week in a row, this time placing 2nd in the women's race with a time of 23:38. Padawan trainee Johnny Razo would place 12th overall in 21:51.

13th Annual 4th of July Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 7/4/13

Gamini Sugathadasa and Arc Rufo would carry the NER colors into the 13th Annual 4th of July Run. The team would narrowly miss capturing its tenth win of the season, as Gamini would take 2nd overall in 18:02, 12 seconds behind the winner. Arc Rufo would win the 25-29 age group placing 29th in 22:33.

Summerlin Firecracker Run - 5K race at Trails Park 7/4/13

NER would have a repeat of last year's race at the Summerlin Firecracker 5K. Thomas Johnson would take 2nd overall, this time in 17:04 while Alejandro Belmares would take 3rd in 17:37. Matt Shelton would capture the male 20-24 age group with his 6th place 19:18 finish.

The women would be represented by Priscilla Ortiz' third overall finish amongst the women. Priscilla's 21:40 would allow her to capture the 20-24 female age group.

Las Vegas Track Club Low Key 5k Run - 5k race at Old Silver Bowl Park 6/29/13

Crystelle Schultz would be the lone representative at the low key run placing 15th overall. Crystelle would cover the 3.1 mile cross country course in 23:07. Crystelle would go on and capture the female 20-24 age group.

Padawan runner Johnny Razo would place 12th overall in 21:51.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Track Series #2 - 3200m race at Green Valley High School 6/25/13

Competing in the second event of the Summer Track Series hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club, NER would compete in Green Valley High School.

Thomas Johnson and Alejandro Belmares would go 5th and 6th in 11:04 and 11:08. Gamini Sugathadasa would be two places back in 8th in 11:16. Max Skidanov would earn 22nd place in 14:01 and Arc Rufo in 14:29

The women would be led by Crystelle Schultz's third place finish amongst the women in 14:41. Betty Cook would run the event with a fellow young padawan runner in 19:14.

Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon - Marathon Race in Seattle, WA 6/22/13

Cali Ninja Gisele Schaaf would travel to the great Northwest to compete in her second marathon since joining the NER roster. Gisele would capture the 25-29 age group, placing 4th overall in 3:16:09. Gisele would go on to be the 70th overall runner to cross the finish line.

Las Vegas Track Club's Low Key 5K Run - 5K Race at Sunrise Picnic Area 6/22/13

Melissa Everard would capture her second win of the season, team's 9th at the LVTC's Low Key 5K. Melissa would place 4th overall in 20:02 winning the woomen's race by more than 9 minutes.

Las Vegas Track Club's Ugly Tie Run - 10K Race at Sunset Picnic Area 6/16/13

NER would have two team members, and two padawan runners compete at the Las Vegas Track Club's Ugly Run. The event would move up to the a 10K for the first time, having been a 5K in the past.

Padawan Johnny Razo would cover the 6.2 mile course in 45:29 finishing in 10th overall. David Gonzales would be one minute behind in 46:20, in 13th overall. For the women, Crystelle Schultz would be the lone representative, taking 18th overall in 51:48.

In the 2 mile race, padawan Brandon Verde would capture the victory in 16:08.

Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Track Series #1 - 3200m Race at Durango High School 6/11/13

NER would celebrate its two year anniversary by returning to Durango High School, home of the first ever race members would compete in. The Las Vegas Track Club's Summer Track Series allows the roster the opportunity to compete in a 3200. The race also would be the first event NER would compete after winning the Overall Team Award from the Las Vegas Track Club for the 2012-2013 season.

Alejandro Belmares would lead the men with his third place finish, coming through in 11:09. It would be Alejandro's first event since the OC Half Marathon in May. Gamini Sugathadasa would be two spots behind in 11:24. Matt Shelton would be the third member in the top 10, taking 7th overall in 11:36. 16th and 18th place would be claimed by Joe Kennedy, who competed for the first time this season, finishing in 14:18, and Arc Rufo in 14:48.

The women would deliver another dominating performance placing five runners in the top ten. Melissa Everard would be overall winner capturing the women's race by 20 more than 20 seconds, in 12:27. The next three ladies would also be within 20 seconds of each other, as Betty Cook would place 4th overall in 13:35, Priscilla Ortiz sixth in 13:43 and Theresa Guerra ninth in 13:54. Ginja Amy Leonard was 10th in 15:28.

Amica 19.7 Dualathlon Event - Dualathlon Race in Lake Las Vegas 6/1/13

Ginja Amy Leonard would take on the road in the Duathlon, debuting in winning fashion. Placing 48th overall in the event, en route to capturing the 40-44 age group. The event featured a 1/2 mile run, cycle portion, followed by a 5K run. Amy covered the entire distance in 1:49:05, managing to run the 5K in an impressive 25:58.

6th Annual Wrigley River Run - 10K Race in Huntington Beach, CA 6/1/13


NER member Gisele Schaaf would earn her second team win of the year (out of 8 team wins total) in only her fourth event since joining the roster. Competing out of Southern California, Gisele would win the 10K in 40:07 capturing the victory by more than 4 minutes, en route to an 8th place overall finish. The win is even more impressive as it comes a week after posting a PR in the half marathon.

Mountains 2 Beach Half Marathon - Half Marathon Race in Ventura, CA 5/26/13


Representing NER in Southern California, Gisele Schaaf captured another age group victory, this time in the half marathon. Gisele finished as the 8th overall female (39th overall) covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:27:41. The time would be a personal best by Gisele, and her second consecutive age group win since joining the roster.

Elemental Running's Ride the Wind Run - 10K Race at Cottonwood Valley, NV 5/18/13

Celeste Sportsman would be the lone representative at the Ride the Wind Trail 10K. Celeste would compete in a course that featured large climbs, rough terrain and winding trails, placing 4th overall. Celeste would cover the course in 1:28 flat, capturing the 40-49 age group win.

Run for the House Run - 5K race at Ronald McDonald House of Charities 5/18/13


NER would return to the Run for the House 5K seeking to defend the team title earned last season for overall performance. Led by Johnny Hilario who placed third overall in 16:27, the team would achieve SIX personal records and three season bests. Thomas Johnson and Gamini Sugathadasa would place 4th and 5th in 17:47 and 18:08 respectably. Thomas would be the runner up in the 19-24 age group, while Gamini would capture the 35-44 age group. Johnny Lopez took 17th overall in 20:12 (6th in the 25-34 age group) to continue his PR streak. The next two finishers would make their NER debuts as Max Skidanov crossed 32nd overall in 21:53 (7th in the 35-44 age group) and
Arc Rufo 40th overall in 22:50 taking 10th in the 25-34 age group.

The women were led by Melissa Everard who helped NER capture its second consecutive win of the season by a lady ninja. Melissa Everard would set a new PR en route to a 19:37 finish, notching the teams sixth win of the season. The next three runners would achieve a podium sweep of the 19-24 age group. Priscilla Ortiz would be 3rd overall female [19th overall] in 20:18 (new PR) and winning the age group. Crystelle Schutlz would be the 4th overall female [31st overall] with her season best 21:46, good for 2nd in the age group. Maria Landeros would cover 3.1 mile course in a season best 22:45, placing 7th overall female [39th overall] 3rd in the 19-24 age group. Carmen Barber would round out the top ten, taking 10th overall female [48th overall] in 23:27 3rd in the 35-44 age group, posting a new PR in the process.

Whoo's In El Morro 25K - 25K race in El Morro, CA 5/11/13

Competing in only her third event since joining the roster, Gisele Schaaf would help NER capture its 5th win of the season. Gisele would be the first female runner to cover the mountainous 25K course in 2:00:34, en route to finishing 6th place overall. Gisele would finish more than a minute and a half ahead of the runner up. Gisele's performance comes a week after competing in the OC Half Marathon where she placed 5th in the 25-29 age group. The race course features climbs that recently underwent severe weather damage, furthermore, the course was uneven and has several rough stretches.

Ryno Running's Las Vegas 5K - 5K race at Town Square 5/11/13

NER would face elite runners at the Las Vegas 5K.

Matt Shelton would represent the men, placing 24th overall in 18:19 (2nd in 18-23 age group).

The women would be led by Melissa Everard's 11th overall finish amongst female competitors. Melissa would cross the line in 20:19, taking 2nd in the 30-35 age group. Ginja Amy Leonard would be the 25th overall female, crossing the line at 24:28, earning 141st place. Amy would be the 4th female in the 35-41 age group.

OC Half & Full Marathon - Half and Full Marathon Race in Orange County, CA 5/5/13

Traveling to Orange County, NER would have members compete in both the half and full marathon in OC. Amongst, those competing, would be two members would make their official marathon debuts.

In the half marathon Alejandro Belmares would place 7th overall in 1:15:30, setting a new PR for the half. Alejandro's time would help him place 2nd in the male 25-29 age group. Gisele Schaaf would be the 20th overall female to cross (126th overall) in 1:32:05. Gisele would go on and capture 5th in the female 25-29 age group. 

In the full marathon, Gabe Dunkle and Celeste Sportsman would make their marathon debuts, while Ginja Amy Leonard would set a new PR. Gabe would be the sixth runner from the state of Nevada to finish, coming in at 4:17:26. Gabe would finish in the top 50% of the full, placing 694th overall and 78th in the 35-39 age group. For the women, Celeste Sportsman would run negative splits as the race unfolded, crossing the line in 4:19:11. Celeste would be the 29th woman in the 40-44 age group, while finishing in 706th overall (200th woman). Ginja Leonard would smash her previous marathon PR, posting 4:27:17. Amy would be 37th woman in the 40-44 age group, while earning 836th overall (245th woman).

LVTC Cinco de Mile Run - 4M race in Sunset Picnic Area 5/5/13

Gavin Kakol would finally make his much anticipated NER debut at the LVTC Cinco de Miler Run doing so in winning fashion. Gavin joined the roster in September of last year, however due to work and school, had been unable to compete until now. Gavin would cover the 4 mile run in 24:54, finishing ahead of the runner up by nearly 4 minutes. Gavin's win helped the team capture its fourth win of the season.

18th Annual Race for the Cure - 5K race in Freemont Street Experience 5/4/13

In the first event of a busy racing weekend for NER, five runners would compete at this year's 18th Annual Race for the Cure in Downtown Freemont. A week after running his best marathon in Eugene, Johnny Lopez would be the team's top finisher placing 35th overall en route to a new 5K PR of 20:41. Johnny's time would land him in 8th place in the male 25-29 age group. David Gonzales would follow right behind in 21:02 grabbing the 41st spot. David would be 5th in the male 45-49 age group.

On women's side, Priscilla Ortiz would not only be the runner up in the women's race, but would also set a new PR in the 5K. Priscilla would cover the 3.1 mile course in 20:59. Carmen Barber would be the next representative to cross the finish in 128th place. Carmen would place 6th in the 35-39 age group with a time of 24:56. Destiny Fernando would make her official team debut at the event placing 199th overall in 26:50.

Eugene Marathon - Marthon Race in Eugene, OR 4/28/13

Traveling to the mecca of distance running, Johnny Lopez would be the first team member to run the Eugene Marathon representing NER. Johnny crossed the finish line in a new PR of 3:40:25 en route to placing 771st overall. Johnny's performance allowed him to finish 66th in the male 25-29 age group. The PR would be Johnny's third PR in the marathon distance, since joining the NER roster. We would like to congratulate Johnny on his record setting performance.

Wild West Cross Country Challenge - 5K race in Bonnie Springs, NV 4/27/13


Returning after serving over seas in the Army, co-founder Tim Reilly would make his comeback race a successful one. Tim would place fourth overall taking on the cross country course in 20:25. Tim would be second male in his new 30-39 age group. This would be the first race for Tim, since winning the ET Half Marathon in August of 2012.

Hurricane City Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Hurricane, UT 4/27/13

Competing across state lines, Bill Daniels would once more run the Hurricane City Half Marathon. Bill would finish as the 3rd representative from the state of Nevada, covering the 13.1 mile course in 2:07:23. Bill would earn 10th in the 45-49 Male Age Group, a week after running 26 miles to honor the victims from the Boston Marathon bombings.

4th Annual Race for Hope Run - 3 Mile race in Town Square, NV 4/27/13

Representing NER for the second time in team history, Melissa Everard would place third overall at the Race for Hope Run. Melissa would cover the 3.03 mile course in 19:35, translating to a 20:02 5K. Melissa would be the top female runner by more than a minute and a half.

Calico Racing's Labor of Love - Half Marathon race in Lovell Canyon 4/21/13

Ginja Amy Leonard and Celeste Sportsman would tackle the toughest course of the season thus far with extreme success. Placing 8th overall in 2:03:36 to set a new PR in the half. One minute later, Celeste Sportsman would cross the finish line in 9th overall in 2:04:28. Amy would go on to capture the female 40-44 age group, while Celeste would place as the second overall female in the age group.

Salt Lake City Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Salt Lake City, UT 4/20/13

Gabe Dunkle would once more travel beyond the Vegas Valley and once more set a PR. Gabe would be the top runner from the state of Nevada at the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. Battling the cold and rain, Gabe would improve his half marathon time by 3 minutes earning 160th overall in 1:40:01 while finishing 21st overall in the male 35-39 Age Group. Gabe has now managed to drop his half marathon by 17 minutes, in only the six halves he has competed in.

117th Annual Boston Marathon - Marathon race held in Boston, MA 4/15/13


For the first time in the history of NER, members would cross the finish line at the historic Boston Marathon. In all, five members have earned their spot in the iconic race. For the men, Michael Green and Alejandro Belmares both achieved the feat in 2012, while for the ladies Betty Cook, Gisele Schaaf and Melissa Everard would as well. Melissa and Gisele would join the roster in early April, making Boston their debut race.

Melissa Everard's team debut would be a 15 minute PR, covering the 26.2 mile course in 3:13:53. Her time would notch her 4493rd overall while being the 472nd woman to finish. Melissa would also place in the top 400 of her age group, doing so in 392nd.

Gisele Schaaf would be second member to cross the finish line doing so in 3:28:37. The finishing time allowed Gisele to place 8058th. She would be the 1678th woman to cross earning 1319th in the female 25-29 age group.

Habitrot For Humanity Run - 5K races at The District in Green Valley Ranch 4/13/13

For the third week in a row, Ginja Amy Leonard would race, this time doing so in winning fashion. Amy would capture the female 40-44 Age Group placing 21st overall with a new PR of 24:14. Amy would be the fourth female runner to cover the 3.1 mile course, as she dropped her PR by more than 20 seconds.

XTERRA Lake Las Vegas Run - 5K/10K races at Lake Las Vegas 4/07/13

Taking on the hills and trails out at Lake Vegas, NER's Celeste Sportsman and Ginja Amy Leonard would earn podium finishes at the event.

Competing in the 5K, Celeste Sportsman would place 20th overall (2nd in 40-44 Age Group) in 29:51. Celeste would miss out on earning the top place in the age group by 10 seconds.

In the 10K, Ginja Amy Leonard crossed the line in 55th place overall with a time of 1:04:58. Amy would go on to place 5th in the female 40-44 age group.

2nd Annual Running of the Elk Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Elk Grove, CA 4/07/13

NER would be represented for the third time this season across state lines in a half marathon. Gamini Sugathadasa would place third overall in 1:21:19 en route to a new personal record. Gamini's 3rd place finish would also help him capture the 40-49 age group. Gamini's performance would come on following his runner up finish at the Laughlin 5K.

City of Las Vegas Corporate Challenge Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 4/06/13


After more than a year away from the racing scene, Michael Green would compete with the NER colors once more. Michael would place 2nd overall in 19:44, in the Corporate C Level of the Corporate Challenge competition hosted by the City of Las Vegas. Michael would fall just short of the win, finishing 5 seconds behind the overall winner.

3rd Annual Windy 25 Run - 3.4 Mile race at Cosmopolitan Casino 4/06/12


Returning to the home of the second team title earned in team history, NER would be listed as an official booster of the event. Five members would place in the top 6, as Thomas Johnson would lead the sweep just like the year before. Thomas would be first overall finisher covering the 3.4 mile (course was long again) in 17:32 earning the team's fourth win of the season. Alejandro Belmares would be the runner up in 17:59 followed by Johnny Hilario's 3rd place finish in 18:32. Matt Shelton would be the fourth finisher in 19:47 (2nd in 19-under age group) as NER claimed the top 4 spots. Michael Johnston placed 6th overall in 20:41 (2nd in 30-39 age group). David Gonzales placed 14th overall en route to a 2nd place finish in the 40-49 age group in 22:12. Sensai Robert Davis and Gabe Dunkle would be 24th and 25th overall in 23:16 and 23:24.

The women's roster would be led by Priscilla Ortiz who placed 16th overall (3rd overall female) crossing the line in 22:17. Betty Cook finished 4 places behind earning 20th overall (4th female) capturing the 40-49 age group in 22:40. Crystelle Schultz would make her official NER debut placing 31st overall (8th overall female) in 24:09. Crystelle would go on to finish 2nd overall in the 20-29 age group. Maria Landeros would cross as the 10th overall in 33rd overall with a time of 24:22, en route to 4th in the 20-29 age group. Ginja Leonard would be (41st overall) 12th overall female (2nd in 40-49 age group), and Carmen Barber (42nd overall) 13th overall female (3rd in 30-39 age group) in 25:37 and 25:38.

Avi Laughlin Run - 5K race in Laughlin, NV 3/30/13


Gamini Sugathadasa would have a photo finish in Laughlin, just missing out on winning the 5K run. Gamini would place 2nd in a time of 18:22.9 finishing .4 seconds behind the overall winner. Both runners would finish more than a minute and a half ahead of the third place finisher. This would be the second year in a row that Gamini would be a runner up in Laughlin. 2012, Gamini would be the runner up in the Half Marathon.

Six Tunnels to Hoover Damn St. Patrick's Day Run - 5K race in Boulder City, NV 3/16/13


Celeste Sportsman would be lone the representative in Boulder City at the Six Tunnels to Hoover Dam 5K. Celeste would capture the masters age group win, placing 35th overall in 25:39. Our rainbow ninja would also come through the line as the 8th overall female, finishing two minutes ahead of the runner up in the age group.

29th Annual Whale Run & Walk - 10K race at Fort Bragg, CA 3/16/13


Northern California would witness a ninja PR as Gabe Dunkle would travel to Fort Bragg California. Placing 15th overall in 44:06, Gabe would lower his 10K PR mark by more than minute while finishing 8th in the male 35-39 age group.

LA Big 5K - 5K race at Dodger Stadium 3/16/13

Traveling for the first time across state lines, four NER members would travel to Southern California to compete in the LA Big 5K as part of the Asics LA Marathon weekend. The 2013 LA Big 5K winds 3.1 miles through scenic Elysian Park. Thomas Johnson would lead the way placing 4th overall (3rd male overall male) in 17:07. Thomas would nip Alejandro Belmares at the finish line who placed 5th overall (4th male overall) in 17:08. Alejandro would capture the male 25-29 age group with ease.

On the women's side Theresa Guerra would run for the first time out of state doing so in stellar fashion. Theresa would finish as the 3rd overall female crossing the line in 20:58. Placing as the 6th overall female, Priscilla Ortiz would win the female 20-24 age group in 21:55.

Calico Racing's Red Rock Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Red Rock Canyon 3/09/13


Two NER runners would take on the cold, wind, rain and hills of the Red Rock Half Marathon. Gabe Dunkle would run his second fastest half marathon en route to a 47th overall finish in 1:47:35. The time would help Gabe place 15th in the male 35-39 age group.

Ginja Amy Leonard would earn 175th overall crossing the line in 2:07:59. Amy would go on to finish 13th in the female 40-44 age group.

13th Annual Come Catch a Leprechaun Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet on 3/9/13

Gamini Sugathadasa would compete in his first 5K of the season at the Come Catch a Leprechaun narrowly missing out on the teams third win of the season. Gamini would be the runner up by 8 seconds, coming through in 18:48. Gamini would finish over a minute ahead of the third place runner.

UNLV Track Classic - Track Invitational at Myron Partridge Stadium on 3/01/13 & 3/02/13

NER would square off for the first time this season against college athletes at the UNLV Track Classic in every distance event. On Friday, March 1st, the 5000m race would allow three members of the NER roster to compete. Johnny Hilario would set a new PR en route to a third place finish in 16:49. Fifth and sixth place would go to Ray Fong (17:10) and Matt Shelton (18:08).

Saturday would bring more action, this time in the middle distance events as Thomas Johnson would enter the 800m. Thomas would place 17th in a field that featured college athletes with a 2:10.60.

Las Vegas Track Club Fat Boy Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park on 2/16/13


NER would have several members make their Las Vegas Track Club Championship Series debut at the Fat Boy race. The race featured a handicap with the time. There would be "weight divisions" with the Clydesdales getting an early start and the "slim & trims" starting from scratch. With the handicap rule, NER landed four runners in the top of the standings. Johnny Lopez would be first runner to cross the line 15:21 (handicap time) followed by Michael Johnston's 16:22 (handicap time). Going off scratch times, Ray Fong would place second overall in the event coming through in 16:38 to set a new PR. Alejandro Belmares would place third overall in 17:02. Matt Shelton would cover the course in 18:40 en route to capturing the male 10-19 age group.

On the women's side Theresa Guerra would place as the third overall female in 20:31, followed by Priscilla Ortiz's 5th overall place in 22:05. Ninth place would go to Celeste Sportsman who narrowly missed her PR after posting a 24:45. The next three spots would also be captured by the NER ladies, 10th would by newcomer Maria Landeros in 24:55, in her first race over two years. 11th, would be notched by Carmen Barber's 24:57, and 12th by Amy Leonard in 25:07, doing so in record setting fashion.

Elemental Running Love on the Run Race - 10K race at Kellog Zaher Park on 2/9/13


Competing for the third time in the valley, Chris Clark would help NER capture their second win of the day in a 10K event. Earning 1st place in 39:02, Chris would win the race by two minutes, earning his third career win.

Mardi Gras Masquerade Run - 5K/10K race at Riverhead Trail Loop 2/09/13

NER would have a record setting day at the Mardi Gras Run as Lisa Leonard would pickup where she ended 2012. Lisa captured her first win of the season by more than 2 minutes, covering 6.2 miles in 41:34. The win would be Lisa's fifth since becoming a member of NER in May. Lisa would be accompanied by Gabe Dunklein the 10K event who would set his second PR of the season, placing 20th overall in 45:25. 

In the 5K event, padawan runner Hayden Daniels would capture the male 10-14 age group, doing so in 26:54.

LVTC Sweatin' Sweethearts Relay - 4M relay race at Flamingo Arroyo Trail on 2/9/13

Pairing up and competing as part of the relay, NER would field two teams for the event. Ray Fong and Priscilla Ortiz would place second overall (1st co-ed team) at the Sweatin' Sweethears Relay. The duo covered the 4 mile course in 25:44 despite facing cold and windy conditions.

Amy Leonard would run her first event a week after her marathon debut. Team Leonard as they were known would captured 2nd place in the 40-59 age group in 33:51.

Surf City Marathon - Marathon race in Huntington Beach 2/3/13


Ginja runner Amy Leonard would move up and debut in the marathon at the Surf City Marathon race. Amy would cover the 26.2 miles in 4:56:30 finishing 1607th place overall. Amy's time would help land her in the top 50% all the women competing in the marathon, en route to placing 102nd in the 35-39 age group.

12th Annual Run for a Wish - 5K race at Town Square 2/2/13


Johnny Hilario would compete for the second week in a row at the Run for a Wish, doing so with his second runner up finishing. Covering the 3.1 mile course in 17:14, Johnny would finish 16 seconds behind the winner.

Las Vegas Track Club Trot Up For Spirit - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 1/26/13

Taking on the elements yet again, NER would have another PR set at the Trot for the Spirit as two members would compete at this event. Johnny Hilario would place 2nd overall in 16:53, finishing more than a minute ahead of the 3rd place runner. David Gonzales would compete a week following his half in St. George, capturing second place in the Male 45-49 Age Group with a 21:14.

St. George Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in St. George Utah 01/19/13

Dave Gonzales would be the lone representative at the St. George Half Marathon, marking it as the first half he'd competed in over a year. Dave would post an impressive 1:40:26, en route to placing 190th overall (out of 1240 competitors). Dave's time would help him place 22nd overall in the Male 45-49 Age Group.

Chefs for Kids Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 1/19/13

Gabe Dunkle would be the lone representative for NER at the Chefs for Kids Run. Gabe's performance would be the second PR of the season earned in the 2013 season. Placing 12th overall in 21:03, Gabe would go on to finish 4th in the male 30-39 age group. Gabe would set a PR by more than 20 seconds.

Las Vegas Track Club 10K Championship - 10K race at Kellog-Zaher Park 01/12/13


The 2013 racing season kicked off officially at the Las Vegas Track Club's 10K Championship race. Despite the freeze warnings issued for race day, NER had a strong showing at the event.  Newcomer Ray Fong would lead a trio of ninjas placing in consecutive order. Ray would place 5th (2nd in male 25-29 age group), followed by Johnny Hilario in 6th (3rd in male 15-19 age group) and Chris Clark in 7th (second in male 20-24 age group). Gamini Sugathadasa would capture 12th place.

Betty Cook would lead the way for the women's side running, being the first female to run the ACTUAL 10K course. Betty would come through in 45:51, followed closely by Priscilla Ortiz crossing in 46:07. Celeste Sportsman would kick start the season in record setting fashion, earning a PR with her 52:51, en route to placing 2nd in the female 40-44 age group. Amy Leonard would capture 2nd in the female 35-39 age group with her 54:35 finishing time. 

During the race, the first 15 runners were directed the wrong way causing some runners to run 1200m short.

14th Annual Come Run with Santa Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 12/22/12

Ray Fong would continue the lone representative streak for NER, doing so at the 14th Annual Come Run with Santa Run. Posting a 17:37, Ray would finish in third place after out dueling the 4th overall runner. This would be Ray's second 5K of the season in a NER uniform since his arrival from Michigan.

Hoover Dam 1/2 Marathon - Half marathon race at Hoover Dam Recreational Area 12/15/12


Taking on freezing temperatures for her final half marathon of the season, Amy Leonard would be lone representative at the Hoover Damn half marathon. Two weeks after rocking the strip, Amy would complete her second half of the month, this time taking 144th overall in 2:11:24. Amy would place 17th in the 30-39 age group.

Zappos Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon - Half Marathon race on Las Vegas Strip 12/2/12

NER would compete for the first time as a complete team in a half marathon at the Las Vegas Half Marathon. A year after only featuring six members in the race, 15 members would wear the NER singlet for this year's event (nine men and six women).

On the men's side, Alejandro Belmares would be the first member to come through the line in 1:21:52 placing 39th overall (7th in male 25-29 age group). Johnny Hilario would be the next member to finish, covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:24:46 notching a PR in 57th place (11th in male 18-24 age group). 75th and 76th place overall would go to Chris Clark (1:26:45) and Gamini Sugathadasa (1:26:48). Chris would be the 12th male in the male 18-24 age group, while Gamini would place 7th in the male 40-44 age group. 172nd overall would be taken by Thomas Johnson's 1:33:37 (17th in the male 18-24 age group.) Michael Johnston's 1:38:28 would land in 312th overall (52nd in the male 35-39 age group). The second member to PR would be Johnny Lopez, doing so in 1:41:13 in 436th overall (54th in male 25-29 age group). Ray Fong would have the honor and privilege to be the 1:45 pacer, doing so in 1:45:22 to cross the finish in 725th place overall. Gabe Dunkle would be the final male on the team to cross the line in 1:53:06, en route to a course record for him. Gabe would finish in 1617th place and be the 235th male in the 35-39 age group.

Lisa Leonard would carry the torch for the NER ladies. Lisa would capture 12th place in the female 25-29 age group in 1:37:54 taking 291st place overall. Theresa Guerra would make her half marathon debut in stellar fashion placing 9th in the female 18-24 age group. Theresa would finish in 1:42:11 en route to 489th place overall. Priscilla Ortiz would cross the finish in 1:48:11 in 998th place overall, 20th in the female 18-24 age group. Celeste Sportsman would capture 4091st place in 2:04:37, while also being 267th in the female 40-44 age group. Ginja Amy Leonard would narrowly miss a Pr by 9 seconds, as her finishing time of 2:07:10 would land her in 4697th overall (380th in female 35-39). Linda Gonzales would also narrowly miss on a PR posting a 2:12:53 to grab 6192nd place (480th in the female 40-44 age group).

Las Vegas Track Club Run Off the Turkey 10K - 10K race at Bunker Park 11/24/12

NER's fearsome duo of Celeste Sportsman and Amy Leonard would be joined by Bill Daniels to run off their turkey. Bill Daniels would be top NER member to cross the line in 57:44 to claim 50th overall. Amy Leonard would follow in 51st overall finishing in 58:03, while Celeste Sportsman would claim 53rd in 58:27.

Padawan Hayden Daniels would compete in the 2 mile race capturing the male 10-under age group. Hayden would place 6th overall in the race posting a 17:18, with the third fastest time posted by all males in the 2 mile race.

32nd Annual Turkey Trot - 10K/5K race at Las Vegas Outlets South 11/17/12


NER would have a record setting day at the 32nd Annual Turkey Trot, yielding nearly a complete roster for the 10K event. NER would have 3 runners in the top 10, and 6 overall in the top 20. Alejandro Belmares would be the teams top finisher placing 5th overall in 35:15, en route to a 36 second PR. Alejandro's performance would help him capture the 25-29 age PR group. Chris Clark would be right behind in 6th place coming through in 37:29 to win the male 20-24 age group. Chris' time would be the second PR of the day, as Chris would improve his 10K mark by 15 seconds. Johnny Hilario would be the 7th overall finisher (2nd male in 15-19 age group) in 37:38. Gamini Sugathadasa would capture 11th place with his 39:29 time, notching 2nd in the male masters age group. 16th overall would be Michael Johnston who would be the next member to set a PR, with his 40:50. Michael would also place 3rd in the male 35-39 age group. Johnny Lopez would be fourth member to set a PR, doing so in 27th place (3rd in male 25-29) in 43:53. David Gonzales would be next member to finish, doing so 35th overall in 45:09 followed by Gabe Dunkle (41st overall in 46:38) and Matt Shelton (42nd overall in 46:53). 66th place would be taken by Joe Kennedy's 51:27.

On the women's side Lisa Leonard would be the top finisher, crossing the line in 18th place in 41:10. Lisa would go on to be  the final member to place in the top 20 as well being the second overall female. Theresa Guerra and Priscilla Ortiz would both debut in the 10K distance, doing so in superb fashion. Theresa would win the female 15-19 age group placing 28th overall in 44:11. Priscilla Ortiz would finish 4 places back in 32nd overall, with a time a of 44:38 capturing the female 20-24 age group. Celeste Sportsman would continue the PR fest, posting 53:15 for 76th place. Celeste would also go on to capture female 40-44 age group. Ginja Amy Leonard would be the next PR setter, doing so in 53:46, earning 4th in the female 35-39 age group. Linda Gonzales would have a season best in 91st place, posting a 55:11.

In all six members would set PRs in the 10K event, making it one of the most convincing team performances of the 2012 season.

In the 5K, Thomas Johnson would win his 9th event of the season en route to the team's 19th victory of the season. Thomas would cover the 3.1 miles in 16:34, pulling away for the victory in the final stretches of the race.

Really Big Free Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Boulder City, NV 11/03/12


NER's newest member would debut in a big way at the Really Big Free Marathon held at Boulder City. Ray Fong, would wind up on the leader board after placing 4th overall in the half marathon in 1:23:46, just missing out on 3rd place at the finish line. Ray's arrival from Ann Arbor to the desert would help the team garner another runner in the 1:20 time bracket for the half.

Ginja Amy Leonard would represent the women, doing so in record setting fashion. Amy would surpass her previous PR by 31 seconds, notching 2:07:01 for 288th overall.

2nd Annual Kassidy's Army Run - 5K race at Bunker Park 11/03/12


Seeking to defend his crown from the year before, Thomas Johnson would be the lone representative at the 2nd Annual Kassidy's Army Run. Thomas would go on to place 3rd overall in a race featuring former Centennial High School phenom Nick Hartle. Thomas would cover the 3.1 mile course in 16:27 finishing more than 6 minutes ahead of 4th place runner.

Pumpkinman Triathlon Race - Triathlon race in Boulder City, NV 10/20/12


Plunging into the triathlon world nearly a month after Lisa Leonard's historic Half Ironman Championship performance, NER would once more deliver in the tri world. Matt Shelton would make his official NER triathlon debut, doing so in the sprint distance. Matt would swim 750m, ride 12.4 miles, and run a 5K (3.1 miles). Matt would deliver a superb performance placing 34th overall (4th in the male 19-under age group) in a time of 1:34:27. Matt would swim the half mile in 17:10 before the cycling portion. Matt would cover the 12.4 mile ride in 51:55, before finishing the final 5K in 19:59.

Lisa Leonard would compete in the Olympic distance which consisted of a 1500m swim, 24.8 mile ride, and conclude with a 10K (6.2 mile run). Lisa would deliver another winning performance, placing 3rd overall in 2:42:48, 20 seconds behind the runner up. Lisa would cover the swim portion in 27:41, before finishing the ride portion of the course in 1:24:21. The final leg of the race would feature the 10K, where Lisa would go on to post a 45:47.

Danny Gans Champions Run for Life - 5K race at Exploration Park 10/20/12

Despite not yielding a full squad for the Danny Gans 5K event, NER would deliver another strong performance from its members. On a tough hilly course that measured 3.27 miles (not 3.1), Thomas Johnson would pave the way for the rest of the team. Thomas would go on to place 3rd overall, covering the 3.27 course in 17:07 holding off five other competitors at the line. Alejandro Belmares would return to the local racing scene following his 8th place performance at the Long Beach Marathon just missing out the top 10 in 11th overall, capturing 2nd in the male 25-29 age group in 18:11 (for 3.27 miles). Gamini Sugathadasa's 19:29 would earn him 20th overall (4th in 40-44 age group). Four places back would be Michael Johnston in 19:50 to win the male 35-39 age group. Joe Kennedy would make his official team debut placing 30th overall in 20:56 (4th male in 25-29 age group).

On the women's side, the team would be paced by Betty Cook's 4th overall female finish (39th overall). Betty would cover the 3.27 course in 22:27 en route to another age group win in the 40-44 age group. Priscilla Ortiz would be the 5th overall female winning the female 20-24 age group in a time of 22:47. Ginja Ninja Amy Leonard would place as the 19th overall female (78th overall) winning the female 35-39 age group in 26:23.

Long Beach International City Bank Marathon - Marathon race in Long Beach, CA 10/07/12


NER would make team history sending two runners to compete to compete at the marathon level. The men would be represented by Alejandro Belmares and Chris Clark, while in the half marathon Priscilla Ortiz would represent the women in her half marathon debut.

Alejandro would be the top finisher crossing the line in 8th place to grab a spot on the leaderboard. Alejandro's 2:55:02 would help him capture the Male 25-29 age group in a race that featured 2,890 runners. Once more Alejandro would be the top runner from the city of Las Vegas and state of Nevada. Chris Clark would compete in his third marathon earning 412th place (24th in the male 20-24 age group) in 3:55:54.

Priscilla Ortiz would debut in the half marathon at this event, finishing 12th in the female 20-24 age group en route a 1:47:24. Priscilla's time would help her capture 649th place overall in a race that featured 11,260 participants. Her time would allow her to finish within the top 150 women, being the 149th overall.

13th Annual Season 4 a Cure Run - 5K race at Nevada Cancer Institute 10/07/12

After not competing for two months as team, NER would return to the team competitions in a big way. Sweeping the the awards by landing ten members in the top 20, NER would claim both the men and women's crown at the event. Thomas Johnson would return to his winning ways capturing his eighth win of the season (team's 18th), doing so in dramatic fashion. Thomas' winning time would be .4 faster than runner up Steve Morgan. Johnny Hilario would place third overall crossing in 17:25. Fifth and sixth place overall would be taken by Matt Shelton (18:22) and Gamini Sugathadasa (18:38). Newcomer, Joe Kennedy would place 8th in 19:57. Johnny Lopez would once more have a record setting run, dropping his PR by 6 seconds to 21:05 notching 15th place overall. 18th and 19th would be taken by David Gonzales and Gabe Dunkle's 21:27 and 21:33 respectably. Matthew, Gamini, Joe and Gabe Dunkle would each go on to capture their respective age groups.

On the women's side, Lisa Leonard would return to the racing circuit following her Half Ironman Championship performance capturing her fourth win of the season in 20:31. Betty Cook would be the runner up on the women's side coming through the line in 21:33. Carmen Barber would be the third runner to cross doing so once again in record setting fashion. Carmen would place 37th overall (second in age group) in 24:16.9, just missing out on 36th by .6 of a second.  Ginja Runner Amy Leonard would capture 53rd overall with a time of 27:27 earning the iron girl award for competing a day after partaking in Tough Mudder. Five places back, Linda Gonzales would post a 28:18, followed by Celeste Sportsman who returned to the racing circuit following a stint on the DL. Celeste would place 59th overall in 28:49.

In all of the 17 members who competed, every member would capture hardware making this the most dominant team performance to date. We wish to congratulate Johnny Lopez, Gabe Dunkle, and Carmen Barber for setting new PRs.

2nd Annual Teddy Bear Run - 5K race at Tivoli Village 9/22/12


Michael Johnston would be the lone competitor at the 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Run. Placing 4th overall in a time of 18:56, Michael would go on to capture the male 30-39 age group. Michael would go on to capture the age group by finishing more than 3 minutes ahead of the runner up.

Sunset Rock 'n' Run - 10K race at Red Rock Country Club 9/22/12

Competing in two separate events NER would have a dominant presence at the Sunset Rock 'n' Run. Chris Clark would narrowly miss capturing the team's 16th win of the season finishing 9 seconds behind the top place. Chris's second place finish in 37:44 would be 3 minutes faster than the third place finisher.

David Gonzales would compete in the 5K placing fifth overall in 21:45 en route to capturing the male 40-49 age group. Matthew Steed would also compete for the first time since his half marathon in Anaheim. Matthew would go on to finish 58th overall in 30:10, earning 6th in the male 20-29 age group.

30th Annual Las Vegas Track Club Forest Challenge - 10K race at Mt. Charleston 9/16/12

Returning to the mountains and seeking more polka dotted success, Gamini Sugathadasa and Betty Cook would carry the NER banner into competition. Placing 3rd overall, Gamini would cover the 6.1 mile course in 48:12. Betty Cook would be the top female finisher yet again adding another victory to her tally crossing the line in 52:56. Betty would go on to place an impressive 9th overall, capturing the win by one minute over the runner up, for her FOURTH win of the season (team's 16th)

World Championship 70.3 Ironman Triathlon - Half Ironman Triathlon Race in Las Vegas 9/09/12


NER would have a monumental moment in team history today thanks to Lisa Leonard's incredible performance. Lisa would put NER on the Ironman Championship scene for first time in team history. Lisa would take on the grueling task of swimming 1.2 miles, riding 56 miles, and running 13.1. Braving the heat and hills of Lake Las Vegas and Henderson, Lisa's performance would be one of a kind. Lisa would go to place 854th overall (out of 2159 competitors), 22nd (out of 89) in the female 25-29 age group and be the 181st female athlete to cross the line. Lisa would cover the 1.2 mile swim in 36:05, before heading into her first transition. Lisa would speed her way onto the bike after the transition moving up in the standing. Exiting the water, Lisa would 996th overall. She would cover the 56 mile ride in 3:35:44 jumping up to 923rd overall. On the final portion of the course, Lisa's half marathon would see her post a 1:59:04 during the competitions hottest part of the day. Lisa's final time for the entire event would be an impressive 5:38:24, debuting at the Half Ironman distance.

Ryno Running Red Rock Run - 5K race at Red Rock Country Club 9/08/12

Squaring off against elite runners, NER would place its three runners in the top 20. Thomas Johnson would come through 8th overall in 17:49 on a hilly course. Thomas' time would help him place 4th in the male 18-25 age group, in a race where the winning time was 15:01. Matt Shelton would be next runner to cross the line in 13th overall with a time of 19:41, 6th in the 18-25 age group. The lone female representative in this event would be Theresa Guerra. Theresa would finish as the fourth overall female in 22:19 claiming a money prize of $150. Padawan member Dayton Rabideau would set a new PR in the 5K with his time of 25:25, claiming 61st overall.

22nd Annual Candlelighters Race for Kids Run - 5K race at Exploration Park 9/08/12

Continuing the debut PR trend, newcomer Johnny Lopez would make his team debut at the 22nd Annual Candlelighters 5K. Johnny would place 12th overall in 21:11 capturing 2nd in 25-29 male age group. Johnny's record time came just 6 days after competing in the Pocatello Marathon. On the women's side, Carmen Barber would improve her mark from the week before crossing the line in 24:42 in 52nd place. Carmen would be the fifth woman to finish the 3.1 mile course in the female 35-39 age bracket.

Disneyland Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Disneyland, California 9/01/12

Gabe Dunkle and Matthew Steed would run the happiest course on earth, at the Disneyland Half Marathon. Gabe Dunkle would be the top finisher en route a record setting performance. Covering the 13.1 mile course, Gabe would place 385th overall (out of 1,5009) in 1:42:51. Gabe would smash his previous PR by more than 14 minutes while finishing in the top half of the male 35-39 age group. Matthew Steed would debut in the half marathon at this event taking 8288nd place in 2:45:59.

12th Annual A Million to One Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 9/01/12


For the third time this season, NER would sweep the top 3 places en route to the team's 15th win of the season. Thomas Johnson would win his seventh event of the year after cruising to a 17:20. Alejandro Belmares would finish six second later for second overall. Gamini Sugathadasa would be 3rd in 18:54. Carmen Barber would make her official team debut at a major event, doing so in record setting fashion taking 26th overall (5th overall female) in 24:44. Carmen would post a PR by more than 2 minutes from her last race in May.

LVTC Back to School Run - 4M race at Kellogg-Zaher Park 8/25/12

After competing in 5Ks for the majority of summer, NER would take to pavement for a 4 mile race. David Gonzales would be the top finisher, crossing 5th overall in 29:47. 34th and 37th overall would be captured by Linda Gonzales and Bill Daniels 41:16 and 43:29.

In the 2 mile race, after a two month hiatus, Brandon Verde would place 2nd overall in 15:38.

LVTC Old Silver Bowl Park Run - 5K race at Silver Bowl Park 8/18/12

Competing for the third consecutive week in a row, newcomer David Gonzales would be NER's top runner at this low key race. Placing 7th overall in 22:12, David would place third overall in the male 40-44 age bracket. On the women's side Amy Leonard would capture the female 35-39 age group by placing 30th overall in 27:25.

11th Annual Police and Fire Department Run - 10K race at Las Vegas Premium Outlets - South 8/11/12

Looking to continue their dominance in the longer races, NER would have two runners compete at the 11th Annual Police and Fire Department Run. Newcomer David Gonzales and Gamini Sugathadasa would both walk away with hardware. Gamini would be the third overall finisher in 40:22, three seconds behind the runner up. David Gonzales would post a 48:57 in 21st place, capturing 2nd overall in the Male 40-44 Age Group.

Las Vegas Track Club Summer Series #4 - 400m/800m race at Eldorado High School 8/07/12

Competing for the third time on the track during the summer, NER would earn the team's 14th win of the season.

In the 800m event, Thomas Johnson would win the race in 2:05.46, just ahead of the runner up who came in at 2:05.96. 3rd-5th place would be captured by Johnny Hilario in 2:14.72, Jason Smith in 2:15.63, and Matt Shelton in 2:20.01. Amy Leonard would be 19th and the lone female representative doing so with a 3:41.14

The 400m would be broken down into several heats and after accumulating the times four runners would be in the top 10. Matt Shelton would place 2nd with a time of 56.32. 3rd and 4th would be Thomas Johnson in 57.31 and Jason Smith 57.72. Johnny Hilario would earn 7th in 60:05. Gamini Sugathadasa would be 10th with his time of 62.64. Dayton Rabideau crossed in 72.98 15th overall. Amy Leonard would once more be the lone female ninja finishing in 1:40.64 25th overall.

ET Full Moon Run - 10K race in Rachel, NV 8/05/12


Doubling up for this event, NER would have five members compete in Rachel walking away with two wins, but more importantly a historic sweep.

Thomas Johnson, Alejandro Belmares, and Johnny Hilario would finish 1-2-3 in the 10K. The win would help the team capture its 13th win of the season as well as Thomas' sixth. More importantly Thomas would capture his second 10K race of the season, this time doing it in 36:52. Alejandro would follow 9 seconds back in 37:01, while Johnny would cross in 37:32. Gabe Dunkle would set a PR in the 10K, despite running earlier that morning. Gabe's 45:47 would not only help him place 8th overall but more importantly land 2nd overall in the male 35-39.

In the half marathon Tim Reilly would finish in 1:30:04 beating out the runner up by more than two minutes. This would mark the last time Tim would compete as a member of NER and in Vegas as his U.S Army duties will send him overseas for a year and a half.

16th Annual Legends of Cross Country - 5K race at Veterans Memorial Park 8/04/12


NER would take on the high school cross country course in Boulder City squaring off against other rival teams seeking another team title. The racing began early in the two mile race as padawan Dayton Rabideau set the tone for the team. Dayton would knock off more than 2 minutes from his last two mile race, finishing in 13:00 earning 4th overall.

In the 5K NER would yield runners for both races. The open race would have two runners make their official team debut as David and Linda Gonzales would join our ranks. David would be the team's top finisher in the open race crossing the line 22nd overall (4th in male 40-44 age group) in 23:00. Gabe Dunkle would follow 7 placed behind in 29th (4th in male 30-34 male age group) finishing in 23:38. On the women's side Amy Leonard would lead the women's field with her 28:16 (3rd in female 35-39 age group) making her the 20th overall woman. Celeste Sportsman would be the 26th overall woman with her 31:20, earning 4th overall in the female 40-44 age group. Linda Gonzales would be final member to cross and in her debut would undertake the 3.1 mile course in 32:43 battling shin splints and earning the irongirl award.

Competing in the seeded race and looking to capture another team title, NER would take on other teams seeking  to make history. Johnny Hilario would be the top finisher for the men in 17:58 grabbing 11th overall. Thomas Johnson would follow 3 places back in 14h overall (8th in male 19-under) with a 18:11. Alejandro Belmares would capture 16th overall (3rd in male 20-29) in 18:15. Gamini Sugathadasa would cross the line in 27th overall (2nd in male 40-44 age group). Matt Shelton would be 31st in 19:30. Michael Johnston would be final member to cross and in the process hold off two younger runners winning 2nd overall in 30-39 age group in 20:39. The women would be lead by Theresa Guerra who would place 3rd in the female 19-under group with her 22:33. Priscilla Ortiz would cover the course in 24:45.

Overall the team would place second in the team competition.

Las Vegas Track Club Christmas in July Run - 5K race at Bunker Park 7/28/12

After a week of rest NER returned to the racing circuit in a big way. Thomas Johnson would capture the team's 13th win of the season and his fifth thus far. Thomas would cover the 3.1 mile course in 17:11, 28 seconds ahead of the runner up, despite missing the turn around point.

Competing in the 2 mile race, padawan runner Dayton Rabideau would place second overall in the race covering the course in 15:18. Dayton's performance would help him capture the 11-14 age group.

Chicago Fire Fighters Run for the Kids - 5k race in Chicago, Illinois 7/19/12

Competing for the second week in a row Tim Reilly would represent NER in Chicago yet again. Tim would narrowly miss on capturing another age group win, finishing ten seconds behind the group winner in 18:15, capturing 7th overall. Tim would cross the line as the second male in the 25-29 age group in a race that featured 865 competitors.

Bryce Canyon Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Bryce Canyon, Utah 7/14/12

Bill Daniels would return to Utah to race after a hiatus following minor surgery. Bill would cross the line in 436th overall in a time of 1:58:40. Bill would place 29th in the male 40-44 age group being the 14th runner in from the state of Nevada.

Hayden Daniels would compete in the 5K returning to the racing circuit after a year hiatus. Hayden would place 36th overall in 26:48 en route a third place place in the male 11-under group.

Las Vegas Track Club Sunset Park Run - 5K race at Sunset Park 7/14/12


The Las Vegas Track Club's Sunset Park 5K would allow Jason Smith to make his official NER debut. Jason would go on to capture the male 20-24 age group en route to a 20:20 finish, earning 12th overall. On the women's side, Betty Cook would also capture yet another age group win, this time with her 21:47 finish (24th overall).

Bastille Festival Day Run - 8k race at Chicago, Illinois 7/12/12

NER would make its debut in the 8K as Tim Reilly would compete in the annual Bastille Day Run in Chicago. Tim would cover the 8k course in 30:04 notching 7th place overall, 3rd in the male 25-29 age group. Tim's performance would once more place NER in windy city's racing circuit.

Las Vegas Track Club Summer Series #3 - 1600m race at Cimmaron Memorial High School 7/10/12

Competing for the third time on the track as part of the summer series, NER would claim its 12th victory of the season. Thomas Johnson would win the mile race in 4:37.60 beating out Andrew Duncan by two seconds. Johnny Hilario would finish in 4th place just missing out on a sub 5 minute mile by finishing in 5:00. Matt Shelton would capture 7th place overall by clocking in at 5:08.

35th Annual Notch Run - 4M race at Mt. Charleston 7/07/12


Braving the elevation and climbs NER would seek to become kings of the mountains at the 35th Annual Notch Run. Competing at 8,000 feet above sea level on a course that featured an 8% grade climb. Alejandro Belmares would be the teams top finisher coming through in fourth overall in 29:45. Alejandro's performance would help him claim the male 25-29 age group. Sixth overall would be claimed by Johnny Hilario's 30:24 finishing time, as well as capturing the male 15-19 age group. Thomas Johnson would claim 9th overall in 31:18 (4th in male 15-19 age group) followed by Matt Shelton in 31:34 10th overall (5th in male 15-19 age group). 15th and 16th overall would be claimed by Michael Johnston and Gamini Sugathadasa finishing in 34:40 and 34:56. Gabriel Dunkle would finish in 42nd overall claiming 5th in the male 35-39 age group in 41:00. On the women's side Lisa Leonard would set the pace crossing in 24th overall in 36:30 finishing as the third overall female. Theresa Guerra would come through three places later in 27th to claim the female 15-19 age group with her 37:43 finish. Priscilla Ortiz would capture 41st place overall as well as the female 20-24 age group with her time of 40:54. Celeste Sportman would capture 3rd place in the female 40-44 age group with her 51:54 for 81st place overall.

Summerlin Firecracker 5K Run - 5K race at Trails Park 7/04/12


Seeking to make history and capture the team's first three-peat crown NER would field six members for this event. Thomas Johnson would pave the way for the team, placing 2nd overall in 16:52 for the first time in three years. Alejandro Belmares would follow in 3rd overall crossing the line in 17:03 en route to capturing the male 25-29 age group. Alejandro's 3rd place finish would end his seven year runner up streak. Team Sensai Robert Davis would return to the racing circuit in this annual event finishing in 22:39 for 39th overall (fourth in male 40-44 age group). Gabriel Dunkle would finish two places behind in 22:54 claiming 4th in the male 35-39 age group. On the women's side Theresa Guerra would be the runner up for the women placing 24th overall in 21:14. Priscilla Ortiz would continue her PR streak lowering her time yet again, this time crossing the line in 21:28. Priscilla's time would also help her capture the female 20-24 age group by more than 8 minutes.

12th Annual 4th of July 5K Blast - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 7/04/12


Landing four runners in the top 15 on a course that has historically brought success to the team, NER would continue to deliver strong performances. Johnny Hilario would be the top finisher coming in third overall in 17:34. Sixth overall would be claimed by Gamini Sugathadasa who would once more capture the Master's Age Group by finishing in 18:26. Matt Shelton would take 9th overall (2nd in male 15-19 age group) with his 19:22 finish. Lisa Leonard would claim yet another victory by being the top overall female crossing in 19:33 for 11th overall. Lisa would win by over a minute. Her victory would help the team capture its 11th win of the season, and move Lisa one step closer to attaining the triple crown (victories in 5K, 10K, and half marathon). Since her team debut Lisa has gone on to win a 5K, half marathon and a triathlon.

Las Vegas Track Club Low Key Race - 5K race at Bruce Trent Park 6/30/12


Ending the month on a high note, four NER members would compete at the Las Vegas Track Club Low Key race held at Bruce Trent Park. Johnny Hilario would just miss capturing his first win of the season finishing in 17:45, four seconds behind the leader. Matt Shelton would cross the finish in 18:49 in 6th place (4th place in male 15-19 age group). On the women's side, Lovelace Domingo would return to the racing circuit after making her debut more than a month ago. Lovelace would cross the line in 25:53 earning 37th overall (1st in 25-29 age group). One second behind her, Celeste Sportsman would capture the women's 40-44 age group with her 25:54 in 38th overall.

Las Vegas Track Club Summer Track Series #2 - 3200m race at Green Valley High School 6/27/12

NER would return to the track for the second time this season with another strong performance by the entire team. Thomas Johnson would once more lead the way for the team as five members would finish in the top 10. Thomas Johnson would finish 3rd overall in 10:42. Johnny Hilario would be the next member to cross the finish, doing so in 10:52 earning 5th overall. Despite falling in the opening meters of the race, Alejandro Belmares would earn 6th place finishing in 10:54. 8th and 9th place would be captured by Gamini Sugathadasa (11:14) and Matt Shelton (11:17), who would make his official team debut at this event. Michael Johnston would post a 12:10 to finish in 17th place overall. The next three finishers would be on the women's side as Lisa Leonard would cover the 2 mile race in 12:18 finishing in 19th place. Betty Cook would place 30th overall in 13:23, while three places behind in 33rd overall Priscilla Ortiz would set a PR with her 13:42. Gabe Dunkle's 14:32 would land him 42nd overall. Amy Leonard would place 49th overall in 16:34.

Running with the Devil - 10K race at Lake Mead Recreational Area 6/23/12

Braving the heat NER would have three members compete in one of Las Vegas' most difficult races. Leading the way, Celeste Sportsman would narrowly miss earning her second consecutive age group win, crossing in 57:42 earning 36th overall. Celeste would finish less than a second behind the Female 40-49 Age Group winner. Amy Leonard would finish 49th overall (5th in the 30-39) in 1:02:41. Matthew Steed would be the lone male representative finishing the 6.2 mile course in 1:15:07 to claim 85th overall (12th in 20-29 Age Group).

Guranteed Rate Disco Dash Run - 10K race in Chicago, Illinois 6/21/12

the NER invasion continued to take root in the windy city as co-founder Tim Reilly would compete in the Guranteed Rate Disco Dash 10K. Tim would go on to capture the male 25-29 age group by finishing 8th overall in 39:00. This would be Tim's second race since his return to Chicago as NER looks to expand beyond state lines.

City Impact Beach Front Half Marathon & 5K - Half Marathon/5K Race in Ventura, CA 6/16/12


Competing out of state for the first time in team history, NER would deliver a sweeping performance in California at the City Impact Beach Front Half Marathon hosted in Ventura. The team would have five members place in the top 10 in the half marathon. Alejandro Belmares would finish second overall in a half marathon for the second time this season. Alejandro would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:17:05 besting his previous mark by 22 seconds set in February. Gamini Sugathadasa would finish fourth overall (1st in the 40-49 Age Group) with a time of 1:22:53. Taking 5th overall (2nd in the 20-29 Age Group) Chris Clark would also set a PR with a time of 1:23:45. Johnny Hilario would make his official NER debut at this event, as well as his half marathon debut doing so in superb fashion. Johnny would cross the line 7th overall (2nd in the 15-19 Age Group) in 1:25:49. Lisa Leonard would be the lone female ninja competing in the half and would deliver another winning performance. Debuting in the half, Lisa would be the top woman finishing in 1:27:45 finishing more than seven minutes ahead of the runner up.

Priscilla Ortiz would compete in the 5K posting 21:44 finishing as the second female (8th overall). Priscilla would go on and win the Female 20-29 Age Group.

Las Vegas Track Ugly Tie Run - 5K race at Silver Bowl Park 6/16/12


Yielding two runners for the Ugly Tie Run, NER would compete in its second race of the day. Gabe Dunkle would be team's top finisher, earning 13th overall in 23:04. Gabe would go on to place 3rd in the 35-39 Age Group by improving his 5K time by 45 seconds from his previous race. Amy Leonard would be other representative finishing 30th overall in 28:05 capturing 3rd in the 35-39 Female Age Group.

Las Vegas Track Club Summer Track Series #1 - 3200m race at Durango High School 6/12/12


Returning to the site of our team's birth, NER would land five runners in the top 15. Alejandro Belmares would be the team's top finisher earning 4th overall in 10:48. Chris Clark and Gamini Sugathadasa would finish 5th and 6th place coming through in 10:55 and 11:27. Michael Johnston would cross the line in 12th overall with a time of 12:03. Lisa Leonard would be the team's final member in the top 15, as she would place 14th overall (2nd female) with a time of 12:14. Priscilla Ortiz would earn 26th overall with her 14:18 finishing time. The race would also feature Carmen Barber's official NER debut, doing so WINNING the first heat with a time of 16:10.

Las Vegas Track Club Low Key Race - 6K Race at Bruce Trent Park 6/09/12

Celeste Sportsman and Matthew Steed would be the representatives for NER at the Las Vegas Track Club's 6K race. Celeste Sportsman would be the team's top finisher, crossing the line in 35:18 en route to capturing the 40-44 Age Group by more than 5 minutes. Celeste would place 31st overall. Matthew Steed would also win his age group, doing so in 38:04. Matthew would earn 35th overall.

Amica 19.7 Lake Las Vegas Triathlon - Sprint Triathlon Race at Lake Las Vegas 6/3/12

Ninja Endurance Racing would make its official triathlon debut in historic fashion at the Amica Lake Las Vegas Triathlon. Competing in her second event as a NER member, and first Triathlon since arriving in America, Lisa Leonard would place 14th overall and be the TOP female finisher. Lisa would finish more than two minutes ahead of the runner up covering the entire distance in 1:28:36:7. The event would be a sprint triathlon that featured a 1/2 mile swim, 16.1 mile bike ride, and concluded with a 3.1 mile run. The win would help NER capture its first ever triathlon win, in the teams debut event. Lisa's performance would also be NER's 9th win of the season, and the second in as many days by an NER member.

T3 Terminal Run - 5K & 10K Race at Terminal 3 at McCarren Airport 6/02/12

For the second time in a span of a month, Betty Cook would walk away with another win as the TOP female runner in the 5K. Betty would place 7th overall (1st Female) with a 21:56, finishing a whopping 3 minutes ahead of the female runner up. Betty's win would be the team's eight of the season, and Betty's THIRD. Also competing in this event and making his official NER debut would be Brandon Verde. Brandon would cover the 3.1 mile course in 23:45 earning 19th overall (3rd in Male 20-24 Age Group).

Michael Johnston would compete in the 10K event placing 14th overall en route to a 46:33. Michael would have the unfortunate luck of running more than the 6.2 miles, yet would still go on to capture the Male 35-39 Age Group.

Runnin' for the House Run - 5K Race at Ronald McDonald House of Charities 5/19/12

For the third time in team history Ninja Endurance Racing would be listed as an official team in a local race and would once more dominate. Placing six runners in the top 20, NER would wind up collective 9 medals, set 5 PRs and 4 season bests. Thomas Johnson would be the top overall finisher placing 2nd overall in 16:27 capturing the 13-18 Male Age Group. Alejandro Belmares would post a second consecutive season best, this time placing 4th overall in 16:47. Alejandro would go on to capture the 25-34 Male Age Group. Chris Clark would be first member to set a PR crossing the line in 17:06 earning 5th overall. Chris would PR by 40 seconds and capture the Male 19-24 Age Group. Gamini Sugathadasa would place 10th with his 18:03 mark, earning 2nd overall in the Male 35-44 Age Group. Michael Johnston would PR for the second consecutive week, this time by 24 seconds, finishing 16th in 18:39. The final member to place in the top 20 would be NER's newest recruit doing so in stellar fashion. Lisa Leonard would debut not only for NER but 5Ks as well after a successful career in Scotland in triathlons and 10Ks. Lisa would capture the Female 19-24 Age Group posting a 19:01 in 20th overall (3rd overall female). Betty Cook would finish as the 4th overall female (31st overall)  and capturing the Female 35-44 Age Group with her season best 20:16. Six seconds behind Theresa Guerra would once more deliver another PR performance, this time capturing the Female 13-18 Age Group. Priscilla Ortiz be the next member to finish, placing third in the 19-24 Female Age Group in 21:39. Priscilla's PR would place her 49th overall. The ironman award would be earned by Gabe Dunkle who after a long stint on the DL would finish in 23:49 earning 73rd overall. Celeste Sportman would set a season best en route to a 105th place finish with her 25:43, improving her time by more than 2 minutes. Amy Leonard would finish just behind in 26:01 109th overall. Matthew Steed would be the final member to cross the line and in the process post a season best 29:29.

The performances by team members would help NER capture the Team Championship for the third time this season. We wish to congratulate all our members for helping contribute to the team championship as well as those that set PRs and season bests.

Ryno Running's Las Vegas 5K - 5K Race at Town Square 5/13/12

Lovelace Domingo would make her official NER debut at the Las Vegas 5K after a brief hiatus from the racing circuit. Lovelace would cross the finish in 26:44 notching 253rd place overall.

LVTC Mother's Day Run - 5K Race at Sunset Park Picnic Area 5/13/12

A week after claiming the 40-44 Age Group, Betty Cook would rebound in spectacular fashion at the Mother's Day Run hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club. Betty would be the TOP overall female crossing the line in 21:08, earning 7th place overall. This would be Betty's second win of the season helping NER notch their seventh win of the season.

Ram Racing Cinco de Miler Run - 5mi Run at Montrose Harbor in Chicago, Illinois 5/5/12

Co-founder Tim Reilly would take to the pavement in Chicago while the team would compete in the desert. Tim would compete in Chicago's annual Cinco de Miler, crossing the line in 22nd place overall in 30:44. Tim's time would help him notch a top ten finish in the age group by earning 8th overall. The race featured over 4,000 runners and is one of Chicago's top races in the city to compete in.

17th Annual Race for the Cure - 5K Race at Fremont Street Experience 5/5/12

Battling the elements, NER would deliver another record setting performance at the 17th Annual Race for the Cure. As a team, FIVE personal records and TWO season bests would be posted. The team would place three runners in the top 10 and five in the top 15. Thomas Johnson would lead the way for the men once more placing 4th overall in 16:45. Thomas' performance would help him capture the Male 15-19 Age Group. Alejandro Belmares would post a season best with his 6th place 17:15 performance capturing the Male 25-29 Age Group. Two out of the next three runners would post PRs as Chris Clark would be the first earning 9th overall with a 17:46. Gamini Sugathadasa would be the second finisher in the Male 40-44 Age Group, placing 11th in 18:43. Michael Johnston would narrowly miss breaking the 19 minute barrier, yet would set a new PR finishing in 19:03. Michael would also place 2nd in the Male 35-39 Male Age Group. Team Sensai Robert Davis once more would compete and post a season best 21:53 earning 66th overall (6th overall in the Male 40-44 Age Group). The female ninjas would also deliver record setting performances as two of the top three female runners would set PRs. Theresa Guerra's THIRD overall female finish (38th overall) lead the way as she PRed finishing in 20:44. Betty Cook would place 49th overall in 21:16 notching the win in the Female 40-44 Age Group. Priscilla Ortiz would be the next member to PR as she would post a 21:50 earning 62nd place overall (2nd in the Female 20-24 Age Group). Amy Leonard would also have a record setting day as she would PR for the third straight 5K in a row, this time improving her finishing time to 25:43 taking 186th place (6th in the Female 35-39 Age Group). Celeste Sportsman would be the final member to cross the line in 265th place overall (10th in the Female 40-44 Age Group) with a 27:16. Celeste earned the team iron girl award after her grit and determination today proved what ninja racing is all about despite running injured.

Hurricane City Half Marathon - Half Marathon Race in Hurricane Utah 4/28/12

Bill Daniels would travel to Hurricane Utah a week after posting a PR in the ultra marathon and partake in the Hurricane City Half Marathon. Bill would have a solid performance coming through in 49th overall (12th in the 40-44 Age Group) in 1:56:13. Bill would be the fourth runner in from Nevada to cross the finish.

Red Mountain Ultra Marathon - 50K Race in Red Mountain Utah 4/21/12

NER would make its OFFICIAL ultra marathon debut in Utah with Bill Daniels competing in the Red Mountain Ultra. Bill would place 29th overall and set a new PR covering the 31 mile trail course in 5:43:34 setting a new PR in the process. He would improve his time by more than 40 minutes, while placing Bill would be the top runner from the state of Nevada, continuing a trend set by our team when racing out of state.

Salt Lake City Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Salt Lake City, UT 4/21/12

Gabriel Dunkle would travel across state lines to represent NER at the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. Gabe would continue the PR trend by our team, covering the 13.1 mile course in 1:56:18. Gabe would be finish as the 12th runner from Nevada, earning 981st place overall (131st in the 30-34 Age Group). Gabe's PR would come in only his second half marathon.

Vancouver Sun Run - 10K Race in Vancouver British Canada 4/15/12

NER would make its OFFICIAL international debut in the city of Vancouver at the Vancouver Sun Run hosted in British Colombia. The race is the largest event held in North America, and annually hosts 50,000 runners, including 100+ elite racers. Co-Founder Tim Reilly would have the honor and privilege of placing NER on the international racing scene at this event. Tim would place 203rd overall (out of 48,904 runners) in a time of 38:03. Tim would be the highest finisher from the state of Nevada, as well as placing 40th overall in the Male 25-29 Age Group. We wish to congratulate Tim on his performance and our teams international debut.

2nd Annual Summerlin Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Summerlin, NV 4/14/12

NER be represented by Chris Clark in this event in record setting fashion. Crossing the line in 1:23:57, Chris would place second overall, and PR by more than 8 minutes. With the finish, Chris would also capture the Male 20-29 Age Group. Chris' performance would be the THIRD runner up performance by an NER runner in half marathons in the last month.

Las Vegas Track Club Silver Bowl Park 5K - 5K race at Silver Bowl Park 4/14/12

NER would be represented by Amy Leonard in this low key event held by the Las Vegas Track Club at Silver Bowl Park. Running a 5K 7 days after setting a new PR in the half marathon in Boulder City, Amy would repeat her performance from a week ago. Placing 16th overall in a time of 26:00, Amy would improve her time by over a minute, capturing the Female 35-39 Age Group in the process. Since debuting with NER, Amy has posted two PRs in three events.

Rockin' Rabbit Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Boulder City, NV 4/07/12

NER would be represented by one of its newest members in Boulder City at the Rockin Rabbit Half Marathon. Amy Leonard would complete the 13.1 mile course in 2:07:32 earning 53rd place. Amy's time would be a personal record by more than 7 minutes and her second since joining NER.

2nd Annual Windy 25 5K - 5K race at Cosmopolitan Casino 4/07/12

For the first time in team history, NER would be an official team at a local race. Thanks to the efforts of co-founder Tim Reilly, NER would be officially invited to partake in the Windy25 5K representing in stellar fashion. Led by Thomas Johnson who would earn his third win of the season (team's sixth), NER would place six runners in the top ten. Thomas would cover the course in 17:31, followed by Alejandro Belmares in 17:49 and Chris Clark in 18:34. Tim would place 5th overall in 19:15, just ahead of 6th place overall finisher Gamini Sugathadasa in 19:18. Michael Johnson would be the final member in the top 10 with his 8th place finish, en route to placing third in the Male 35-39 Age Group. The race would also feature sensai Coach Robert Davis making his official NER debut earning 27th place with a time of 22:49. Gabe Dunkle would post a 22:55 finishing 28th overall. Matthew Steed would be the final male finisher coming through the line in 31:30 (127th place overall). Nelson Alfaro would make his official NER debut however due to issues with his timing chip, his time would not register officially. Theresa Guerra would be the top female yet again crossing the line 21:52 earning 20th place overall as well as the Female 19-Under Age Group Win. Priscilla Ortiz would finish in 23:12 taking 31st place and notching a 2nd place 20-29 Age Group standing.

It should be noted the course was NOT 3.1 but rather 3.2 miles.

Wahine Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Honolulu, Hi 4/1/12

Celeste Sportsman would make her official NER debut in paradise in a record setting performance. Celeste would complete the grueling course in 1:59:01 setting a new personal record, earning 124th overall (21st in age group), out of 1,200 runners. Celeste would also finish ahead of the 6 men who partook in the event, and be the TOP runner from Nevada to cross the finish. She would also be the FIRST member of the team to race outside of the continental U.S.

Avi Laughlin Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Laughlin, NV 3/31/12

Gamini Sugathadasa would represent NER at the Avi Laughlin Half Marathon in superb fashion. Gamini would place 2nd overall in 1:23:57, winning the masters division as well as the Male 40-49 Age Group in his first trail marathon. This would mark the second time in the month of March an NER runner would be the 2nd overall finisher in a half marathon, beating out the third place runner by 5 minutes.

Las Vegas Track Classic Invitational - 1600m/5000m race at Del Sol High School 3/24/12

Chris Clark would be the lone representative at the Las Vegas Track Classic showing up in a big way. Chris would compete in the men's open 1600m and 5000m events. Chris would place 4th overall in a photo finish crossing the line in 4:59:81. In the 5000, Chris would place 3rd overall in 17:48 setting a new PR along the way.

11th Annual Run Away with Cirque du Soleil 5K - 5K race at Springs Preserve 3/24/12

NER would compete as team at the Run Away with Cirque du Soleil 5K squaring up against 50 other teams, placing three runners in the top 10. Thomas Johnson would lead the way capturing his second win of the season and the teams fifth with his 16:47 performance. Alejandro Belmares placed 4th overall (1st in 25-29 Age Group) in 17:26, six days after competing at the LA Marathon. Gamini Sugathadasa would place 2nd in the 40-44 Age Group with his 6th place finish crossing the line in 18:20. Michael Johnston would be the team's next finisher placing 11th overall in 19:30 earning 3rd place in the 35-39 Age Group. Gabe Dunkle would be the final male finisher for NER placing 43rd overall in 22:25 (4th in 30-34 Age Group). On the women's side two runners would make their official team debuts. Led by Theresa Guerra who for a third consecutive week raced, improving her finishing time. Theresa would place 21st overall (2nd female) finishing in 20:57 to claim the 15-19 Female Age Group. Priscilla Ortiz would make her OFFICIAL NER debut at this event winning the Female 20-24 Age Group, placing 42nd overall in 22:22 setting a new PR. This would be Priscilla's first race in nearly two years. Amy Leonard would be our second member debuting at this event doing so with a PR of 27:02 earning 191st place overall (10th in Female 35-39 Age Group). NER's strong showing helped the team capture the team competition in their first official team event of the season.

Congratulations to all our runners who debuted and did so with PRs and to Thomas for his win.

Also we wish to congratulate and give a special recognition to Steve Morgan who placed 2nd overall a week after winning the Six Tunnels Half Marathon and being an overall example to the running community. Vegas needs more class acts like Steve

LA Honda Marathon - Marathon race in Los Angeles, CA 3/18/12

NER would be have two members make their marathon debuts in Los Angeles seeking to make history. Charlene Ragsdale and Alejandro would take on the challenge and officially place NER at the marathon level. Alejandro placed 60th overall, 12th in the 25-29 Age Division, in a time of 2:53:02, making him the TOP Nevada runner once more.  Alejandro's performance would help him qualify for the Boston Marathon in 2013 in his first marathon. This now makes THREE members who have earned this honor. Tim Reilly who competed in the event last year, and Michael Green who qualified for this year's event.

12th Annual Come Catch a Leprechaun Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 3/17/12

NER would deliver a sweeping performance at the 12th Annual Come Catch a Leprechaun Run as every competing member would receive an award. Chris Clark would lead the sweep crossing the line in 18:11 good enough for 3rd overall. Gamini Sugathadasa placed 4th overall and capture the Masters Age Division with his 19:26 finishing time. Our top two female ninjas would finish 8th and 9th as Betty Cook would be the first overall female in 21:12 and Theresa Guerra would finish just behind in 21:25. Theresa's performance was incredible after shedding more than a minute of her time from her competion last week at the Low Key 5K. Our final member Gabe Dunkle would capture the 30-34 Age Group with his time of 22:27, good enough for 17th overall.

Six Tunnels Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Hoover Dam Recreational Area 3/17/12

Co-Founder Tim Reilly competed in a half marathon for the second week in a row. Tim would place 10th overall finishing the course in 1:25:08 to capture the 25-29 Male Age Group. Tim would eclipse his performance from a week ago at the Red Rock Half by more than 5 minutes.

Calico Racing's Red Rock Half Marathon - Half Marathon race at Red Rock Canyon 3/10/12

NER would have a dominant performance at the Red Rock Half Marathon placing 3 runners in the top 15. Alejandro Belmares would lead the way placing 2nd overall in 1:22:37. Tim Reilly would cover the 13.1 mile course in 1:31:13, earning 5th place overall and capturing the 20-29 Male Age Group. Michael Johnston would place third in the Male 30-39 Age Group with his time of 1:38:15 earning 15th place.

Las Vegas Track Club Low Key Run - 5K race at Sunset Park Picnic Area 3/10/12

NER would earn their fourth win of the season following Chris Clark's victory at the Low Key run hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club. Chris would narrowly miss breaking 18 crossing the line in 18:04, capturing his second win as a member of NER. Betty Cook would place 7th overall (2nd female runner) finishing the course in 21:07. The event would feature Theresa Guerra making her official team debut, doing so in stellar fashion. Theresa would capture the female 15-19 age group with her time of 22:31, putting her 18th overall.

Las Vegas Track Club Sole Purpose Run - 10K race at Sunrise Park Picnic Area 2/25/12

NER captured their second and third wins of the season at the Sole Purpose 10K hosted by the Las Vegas Track Club. Chris Clark would be the first overall runner crossing the line in 38:20, 16 seconds ahead of the runner up. Meanwhile Betty Cook would cross the line 10th overall in 45:06, being the top female yet again.

Rock n Roll Pasadena Half Marathon - Half Marathon in Pasadena, CA 2/19/12


Co-founder Alejandro Belmares would rebound from a disappointing half in Vegas in a big way. Alejandro would compete at the inaugural Rock n Roll Pasadena Half Marathon setting a new PR for the half, finishing in 1:17:27. Alejandro would place 17th overall (out of 5851 individuals), 4th in the 25-29 Age Group and be the FIRST runner from Nevada to cross the line, as well as out of state. Alejandro's time would be 36 seconds faster than his previous best time, and more than FIVE minutes faster than the Vegas Half in December. We wish to congratulate Alejandro for his record setting performance.

Las Vegas Track Club Fat Boy Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 2/18/12

Gamini Sugathadasa and Michael Johnston would make their Champion Series debut in 2012 at the Fat Boy 5K. The race featured a handicap with the time. There would be "weight divisions" with the Clydesdales among us getting an early start and the "slim & trims" starting from scratch. With the handicap rule, Michael Johnston would place 6th overall in the Men's division and be 3rd in the 30-39 age group. Gamini Sugathadasa would compete in his second event of the day and place 14h overall in the Men's division and also take 3rd in his age group (40-44).

Presidents' Day Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 2/18/12

Gamini Sugathadasa would be the lone representative at the Presidents' Day 5K finishing 5th overall. Gamini would cross the finish in 18:20 earning him second place in the Male 40-44 Age Group. This would be the first of TWO events for Gamini on this day.

LVTC Sweatin' Sweethearts Relay - 4M relay race at Silver Bowl Park 2/11/12

Priscilla Ortiz would make her NER debut at the Sweatin' Sweethearts Relay paired with Alejandro Belmares. Priscilla and Alejandro would complete the 4 mile relay in 27:29 to capture the 41-60 age bracket and 12th overall. Chris Clark would also partake in the relay finishing in 11th place overall (8th in the 21-40 age bracket) with his partner Alyssa Kuveke.

Mardi Gras Masquerade Run - 5K/10K race at Riverhead Trail Loop 2/11/12

Braving the elements NER would yield one runner for the Mardi Gras Masquerade Run. Gabe Dunkle would place 17th overall in the 10K (7th in age group) crossing the line in 47:33.

11th Annual Run for a Wish - 5K race at Town Square 2/4/12

NER would earn their first win of the season at the 11th Annual Run for a Wish 5K. Thomas Johnson would have a record setting performance en route to his first win of the season, and sixth as member of our clan. Thomas' 16:08 winning time would be 40 seconds faster than the runner up and a new personal best by more than 30 seconds. Not to be outdone, Gamini Sugathadasa's 17:36 would also be a personal record earning him 6th place overall. Congraulations to our runners for continuing our record setting streak.

Chefs for Kids Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 1/21/12

Gabe Dunkle and Thomas Johnson would represent NER at this event. Gabe would make his 2012 season debut in spectacular fashion. Gabe would place 22nd overall setting a new PR in 22:15 to place 3rd the 30-39 age division. Thomas would be the runner up for the second week in a row, finishing in 16:58, narrowly missing the victory by 4 seconds.

LA 13.1 Half Marathon - Half Marathon race in Los Angeles CA 01/15/12

Co-Founder Tim Reilly would have a historic run in Los Angeles at the LA Half Marathon. Tim placed 33rd overall with a time of 1:22:41, earning the qualifying mark for the New York City Marathon in November. Tim's dominant race would also help him be the third fastest male in the 25-29 age group, and top finisher from the state of Nevada. Tim's finishing time would be 52 seconds faster than his time in the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half Marathon in December.

Chevron Houston Marathon - Marathon race in Houston Texas 1/15/2012

Michael Green would be NER's lone representative in Houston delivering a record breaking performance that would earn him a birth into the Boston Marathon. Michael would come through the finish line in 3:03:50, setting a new PR by 7 minutes in only his FIFTH marathon. Michael would place 307th overall (54th in 25-29 age group).

P.F. Changs Rock and Roll Arizona Half Marathon - Half marathon race in Phoenix Arizona 01/15/12

Michael Johnston and Chris Clark would travel across state lines to represent NER at this event. Michael Johnston would have a record setting performance finishing in 1:28:36, good for 195th overall, 24th in the age group. Michael would set a new PR by more than 5 minutes, and beat his time from the Las Vegas Half Marathon by an astonishing 7 minutes. Chris Clark would compete in his second half marathon (a week after his first), placing 998th with a time of 1:43:31.

Las Vegas Track Club 10K Championship - 10K race at Kellog-Zaher Park 01/14/12

The 2012 championship season got off to a sizzling start as NER set three PRs at the Las Vegas Track Club 10K Championship. Thomas Johnson would place 2nd overall (1st in 19-under age group), with a time of 35:23. Thomas would also be crowned the 10K LVTC Member Champion, for being the FIRST Las Vegas Track Club member to finish on the men's side. Alejandro Belmares would also set a new personal record of 35:51 crossing the finish in 4th place overall (2nd in 20-29 age group). Betty Cook would be the lone female representative for NER, coming through in 40:51 despite battling bronchitis. Betty's efforts would help her nab the 45-49 age division for women.

Running with an Angel 1/2 Marathon - Half Marathon Race at Lake Mead Recreational Area 01/07/12

Chris Clark would be the lone NER representative to kick off the 2012 racing season debuting in the half marathon. Chris would place 5th overall with a time of 1:32:55. Chris' performance would help him capture the 20-29 Male Age Group.

Elemental Running's Resolution Run - 10K/5K race at Kellog-Zaher Park 12/31/11

Co-Founder Tim Reilly closed out the racing season with a bang at the Resolution Run. Tim would place second overall in the 10K posting a 36:55 to set a new personal record. Danielle Green also competed in the 5K making this her second event since her return to running back in October. Danielle (and baby Reilly) finished the 5K in 30:40, while PUSHING a stroller. Danielle would improve her time by over a minute from her last event in October.

LVTC Low Key Race - 5K/2M race at Silver Bowl Park 12/24/11

Thomas Johnson would earn his fifth career victory as a member of NER. The win would also be the ELEVENTH win of the season. Thomas would compete in the 2 mile race finishing in 10:39, nearly four minutes ahead of the runner up.

Las Vegas Neon Run - 5K race on 12/17/11

Chris Clark would earn his first career victory as a member of NER at the Las Vegas Neon FC 5K. Chris would cruise an easy win posting a 18:49, finishing two minutes ahead of the runner up. The win would be the TENTH win of the season for NER.

13th Annual Come Run with Santa Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 12/17/11

Gamini Sugathadasa and Sergio Ibarra would pair up and compete in this event for NER. With a time of 18:16, Gamini would finish 6th overall and once more capture the masters age division. Sergio would cross the finish 8th overall in 18:57, second in the masters age group. Our dynamic duo have finished 1-2 in their age divisions in every race they have participated this season.

LVTC Low Key Event - 5K/2M race at Wayne Bunker Park 12/10/11

Thomas Johnson would once more compete in the 2 mile race finishing second, pacing a fellow runner. Sergio Ibarra would compete in the 5K placing 5th overall with a time of 18:42. We wish to congratulate our runners for great races.

Zappos Rock and Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon - Half Marathon at Las Vegas Strip 12/4/11

Ninja Endurance Racing yielded a full team for Rock and Roll Half Marathon. The race also marked the return of co-founder Timothy James Reilly to Vegas to compete. NER would have their top 5 runners finish under 1:35. Gamini Sugathadasa would be the team's top finisher placing 123rd overall with a time of 1:21:48. Gamini's time would be a new personal record. Alejandro Belmares would be NER's second finisher coming through in 1:22:12 good enough for 135th overall. Tim would post a 1:23:33 good for 150th overall. Michael Green would cross the line in 1:26:30 placing him 212th overall. Thomas Johnson would debut in the half as a member of NER placing 686th overall with a time of 1:33. Michael Johnston would be NER's final finisher under 1:35, coming through in 1:33:57 taking 482nd overall. Gabe Dunkle would make his half marathon debut at this event placing 4219th in a time of 1:57:11. It is worth noting that Gabe's time was 4 minutes faster than his projected finishing time at the beginning of the season.  The race would be the final event in the Las Vegas Track Club's Champioship Series, earning all our members 5 points for partaking in it. As a result, Alejandro Belmares would be crowned the Championship Series Winner. We wish to congratulate our entire team for their performances in this race.

LVTC Low Key Race - 12K/2M race at Sunrise Picnic Area 11/26/11

Thomas Johnson captured NER's NINTH win of the season. Two days after winning the 12K held at Six Tunnels, Thomas came back and won the 2 mile race in 10:47 by nearly 2 minutes. This is Thomas' FOURTH win of the season in only his fifth race as a ninja. The win puts Thomas in the lead with most team wins at four, ahead of Tim Reilly with 3, Sergio Ibarra and Alejandro Belmares with 1 apiece.

10th Annual Catch the Gobbler Run - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 11/24/11

Chris Clark made his official NER debut at the 10th Annual Catch the Gobbler 5K placing 7th overall in 18:05. Gamini Sugathadasa would NER's second participant in this event finishing 10 seconds behind Chris, good enough for 8th overall. Gamini would capture the 40-44 Age Division with his time. We wish to congratulate Chris on a successful debut and Gamini for for his age group win.

Six Tunnels Turkey Trot - 12K race at Lake Mead Recreational Area 11/24/11

Thomas Johnson captured NER's EIGHTH win of the season with another dominant performance. Thomas would win the 12K in 43:06, just 5 days after placing 5th overall in the 10K Turkey Trot. The win is Thomas' THIRD victory since joining NER in only his fourth race as a ninja. We wish to congratulate Thomas for another successful race.

7th Annual Waves and Wishes Run - 5K race at Folley Beach South Carolina 11/19/11

Co-Founder Tim Reilly would win his this consecutive race of the season and capture NER's SEVENTH win this year. Competing at the 7th Annual Waves and Wishes Run, Tim endured a cross country course capturing the victory in 18:06. Since leaving for JAG school in July, Tim has partaken in six events, winning three. Tim's victory moves him ahead of Thomas Johnson who has 2 victories. Sergio Ibarra and Alejandro Belmares each have one win this season.

31st Annual Turkey Trot Run - 10K race at Las Vegas Premium Outlets South 11/19/11

NER would yield a complete seven man roster for the first time this season at the 31st Annual Turkey Trot. Alejandro Belmares and Thomas Johnson lead the way placing 4th and 5th place overall. Alejandro would set a new a personal record posting a 36:00 (1st in 25-29 Male Age Division), while Thomas would cross the finish line in 36:36 (1st in 15-19 Male Age Division). Gamini Sugathadasa would win the Masters Age Division with his 9th place finish posting a 38:31. Sergio Ibarra would place 13th (1st in 40-45 Male Age Division), Michael Green 15th (3rd in 25-29 Male Age Division), and Michael Johnston 18th (1st in 35-39 Male Age Division). Gabe Dunkle set a PR with his time of 46:41, good for 47th place overall. Congratulations to all our runners.

1st Annual Kassidy's Run - 5K race at Wayne Bunker Park 11/12/11

Thomas Johnson would help NER capture their SIXTH win of the season at the 1st Annual Kassidy's Army 5K. Thomas would cruise to an easy victory posting a 17:12, 18 seconds in front of the runner up. Thomas' victory equalizes Tim Rielly's two wins for the team lead. However it should be noted that Thomas' two wins have come in his first races as a member of NER. We wish to congratulate Thomas on another win, and officially dub him the young gun on our clan.

Predict Your Time, Win a Turkey Run - 5K race at Archery Park 11/12/11

Sergio Ibarra would once more be NER's lone representative in this event, finishing in third with a time of 18:48. The third place finish however would earn Sergio the grand prize of the turkey after correctly predicting his finishing time.

Atlanta National Veterans Day Run - 11K race at Piedmont Park in Atlanta Georgia 11/11/11

Tim Reilly continued his winning ways as a member of Ninja Endurance Racing after taking first overall in the Atlanta National Veterans Day Run. Tim would help secure NER's FIFTH win of the season with a time of 42:30. Since leaving Las Vegas for JAG school in Virginia, Tim has won two of the five races he's partaken in. We wish to congratulate Tim for another winning performance and also for being a proud member of our armed forces.

LVTC Very Scary Halloween Run - 5K race at Sunrise Picnic Area in Flamingo Arroyo Trails 10/29/11

Thomas Johnson would make his official NER debut in a stellar way. Thomas would win his debut race by 30 seconds posting a 16:56 at the Las Vegas Track Club Halloween race. Thomas' win would be the FOURTH of the season for Ninja Endurance Racing and by far the most dominant. 6th Annual Chapman University Toyota of Orange Run - 5K race at Chapman University 10/15/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's Alejandro Belmares competed for the second year in a row at this race looking to carry NER's dominance across state lines. Alejandro placed fifth overall out of 2,000 runners with a new personal record of 16:15. Alejandro would best his old record from high school by 40 seconds. The time would be good enough for second in the 25-29 age division. The race lived up to its title as the "flattest, fastest and funnest" 5K in the world as the winning time was 15:21 from Kenneth Ernst from Mission Viejo, California. Alejandro would be the top finisher for an out-of-state runner. We wish to congratulate Alejandro on his new personal record.

2nd Annual Keeping Kids Fit PBS Vegas Run - 5K race at Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus 10/08/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's stallion Sergio Ibarra once more delivered another solid race performance. Sergio would finish fourth overall in 18:48 capturing the Masters Age Division yet again.

Season 4 a Cure - 5K race at Nevada Cancer Institute 10/2/11

Ninja Endurance Racing had its most dominating performance of the season by placing five runners in the top 15 at the Season 4 a Cure 5K. Alejandro Belmares placed second in a 17:06 (listed 17:10 we're disputing that time), Gamini Sugathadasa who finished fifth overall won the master's division in a 18:17. Sergio Ibarra was second in the same age division in a 18:50. This event however was highlighted by the return of Danielle Green to the racing circuit following the birth of her daughter. Danielle would finish 115th in a time of 31:13 WHILE PUSHING THE STROLLER THE ENTIRE WAY! She proves there is no limit to what a ninja can do. Congratulations to all the racers

Second Annual Constitution Run - 10K race at James Madison's Montpelier 9/25/11

Co-founder Tim Reilly helped earned Ninja Endurance Racing's THIRD win of the year with a dominating performance in the 10K. Tim's winning time of 39:01 would be well ahead of the second place finisher (41:07). Tim continues to represent NER while attending JAG school in Virginia, he will be in town for NER's next major event the Turkey Trot.

LVTC Forrest Challenge - 6M and 11M race at Mount Charleston 9/17/11

Ninja Endurance Racing made its official debut in trail racing in this event held at Mount Charleston. Gamini Sugathadasa, Michael Lee Johnston, Michael Green all delivered strong performances in the 11 mile run, while the team sensai Coach Robert Davis competed in the 6 mile run finishing in 7th place overall.

Gene Arnold Memorial Pepsi - 10K race in Charlotesville, VA 9/17/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's Tim Reilly competed for the second week in a row at the Gene Arnold Memorial 10K. Tim would finish 12th overall with a 38:02 earning him a 3rd place finish in the age group 25-29. This is Tim's third race since attending JAG school in Virginia.

Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run - 5K 9/10/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's co-founder Tim Reilly returned to the racing circuit after a two month layoff with a stellar performance. This is Tim's second race while in JAG school in Virginia, finishing with a 18:03 good enough for fifth place overall.

Larry Burgess Las Vegas Cross Country Invitational - 5K race at Veterans Memorial Park 9/10/11

Ninja Endurance was represented proudly by Sergio Ibarra and his fifth place finish. Since becoming a member of NER, Sergio has competed in a race EVERY weekend, notching two medals, and several first place finishes in his age division. NER wishes to congratulate Sergio for continually showing that age is a myth.

11th Annual A Million to One - 5K race at Findlay Chevrolet 9/3/11

Ninja Endurance Racing notched its second win of the season as Alejandro Belmares placed first overall in the A Million to One 5K in 17:27.  New comer Gamini Sugathadasa finished third overall in a time of 17:53. Gabriel Dunkle continued to show his development as a runner earning 15th place and setting a new PR of 23:11

LVTC Low Key Event - 4 Mile race at Kellog-Zaher Park 9/3/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's youngest member Hayden Daniels delivered another winning performance competing in the Las Vegas Track Club's 4 mile race held at Kellog-Zaher Park. Hayden would win the 10 & under category with a time of 42:33. Pacing Hayden, his father Daniel represented NER with a time of 42:34. Hayden continues to grow in our youth system.

Sergio Ibarra would be the highest placing ninja with his third place finish.

Las Vegas Track Club Archery Park Race - 5K race at Archery Park 8/27/11

Ninja Endurace very nearly enjoyed a back to back wins, as Sergio Ibarra came in second place at this low key event. Sergio's time of 19:36 was only 9 seconds off the winning time.

Las Vegas Track Club Archery Park Race - 5K race at Archery Park 8/20/11

Ninja Endurance earned its first official win of the season after Sergio Ibarra placed first overall in this Low Key event by the Track Club. Sergio would win by 22 seconds cruising to an easy win.

Las Vegas Track Club Scholarship - 5K race at Sunset Park 8/13/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's Sergio Ibarra dueled against a field of high school runners and took 12th overall. Ibarra would win his age division in a time of 19:05, a week after conquering his first major cross country race as a ninja. Congratulations to Sergio.

15th Annual Legends of Cross Country - 5K race at Veterans Memorial Park 8/6/11

Ninja Endurance Racing fielded its first complete race as a team in this major event in Southern Nevada. NER squared off against other running clubs, cross country teams, and college runners. Gabriel Dunkle, Sergio Ibara, and newcomer Michael Lee Johnston Jr would make their debut in cross country racing. NER members would earn three medals and their trophy of the season.

Charlottesville Track Club Race - 5K race in Fairview North Carolina 7/23/11

Ninja Endurance Racing's founder Timothy James Reilly competed in his first race since leaving Las Vegas for JAG School. Timothy placed 6th overall notching a time of 19:10 and was the winner of the 25-29 age group. Congratulations to our co-founder Tim! And keep up the good work! Summerlin Firecracker - 5K race at the Trails Park 7/04/11

Ninja Endurance Racing had its best perfomance of the season as all three of its competitors placed in their respective age group. Alejandro Belmares finished second overall in a tightly contested race. Gabriel Dunkle and Sergio Ibarra each placed in their respective age groups. Dunkle went on to set a new PR!

Ambulance Chasers - 10K race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway  6/18/11

Ninja Endurance Racing competed in their first major event in Las Vegas. Tim Reilly and Michael Green competed for NER placing 2nd and 5th respectably. The race was held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ninja Endurance Racing officially debuted at this event with a strong remark as it placed three runners in the top 10.
