It is with a deep and solemn heart that we announce the passing of one of our former members today. Johnny Hilario passed away at the age of 21 after battling with cancer.
During his time at Ninja Endurance Racing Johnny competed officially in 19 events, ranging from the 400m to the half marathon. It was through his performances that he earned a scholarship for Coffeyville Community College where he set school records in the 5,000m and various other events.
Heaven just got a little faster.
Remember that life is precious.
RIP Johnny! We all loved you and will most certainly you.

With the passage of the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon last week and the Turkey Trot this week, most of the major road racing events have passed marking the end of the road racing season for 2014.
The focus for 2015 will begin, and with it we announce the plans for the 2015. NER will continue to be in operations with two separate entities. The club portions will be open to ALL runners looking to be members of a running group. Club members will not be asked to compete at major events, but CAN purchase team gear. Club members will have the option to have their LVTC membership paid for.
Our RACING team will be focus on competing at a high level to represent the Las Vegas running community locally and abroad. The primary goal for the racing team will be to compete in the Las Vegas Track Club's Championship Series and other major events in hopes to earn victories and continue the team's success into a fourth year. Racing team members will be expected to represent the team at every event they partake in with our new racing kit. Racing team members will also have their LVTC membership paid for annually and required races paid for.
Positions are available for both the Men and Women's racing teams but are subject to time standards.
Both club and racing team members will STILL be able to purchase all shoes and equipment for 30% off retail price.

Greetings fellow ninjas/friends/teammates/partners/crazies/and supporters
First off lets start off by saying what a great year we had! All the hard work you each one of you did helped contribute to make it the most successful year in our now 3 years of existence.
Each one of you helped make NER become the most recognized team in the Las Vegas valley. Our presence has also begun to reach little bits of California (due to our racing performances out of state).
I firmly believe that 2013 was just the beginning of what we are capable of not only this season but beyond. By working hard together we will not only continue to thrive at every event we compete at, regardless of the level.
As a large thank you I strive to provide you the best prices and access to all running merchandise (30% off all retail/sale items via our online store AND items found on Eastbay). Through our online store we are able to generate revenue to not only pay for our website but equipment as well. Perhaps the most important factor is collecting of funds for races. WE understand that our sport can be expensive, and not everyone is fortunate to be able to compete. Because of this I strive to ALWAYS keep funds in our account. Through this, our less fortunate members can get shoes, apparel, and races paid for when funds are short.
Previously we sought donations in an effort to maintain afloat. To those who have given we thank you sincerely as you've kept our dream and vision intact. Yet, this is not enough. For this reason we shall introduce a monthly team fee of $5.
This fee will not only cover our website fees, lvtc fees, but the addition of a dietician (Amber Yudell) (for those interested), weight training director (Amber Yudell & Debi McGuire) (for those interested), and photographer (TBD) for major events, physical therapist and more importantly access to training plans from certified coaches (Christine Gentile being one) $5 is a small price to pay to have CONSTANT access to not only these benefits but many more to come! I am sending the first batch of invoices with the team fees tonight!
This year I ask that we use the motto "teamwork makes the dream work" at every training run, race, gathering and anything related to team matters.

Volunteers are being sought out to be part of the Mustang 50th Half Marathon team members to distribute flyers especially at events. Race promoters are looking for someone dependable and more importantly seeking to make extra income.
• Individuals will be paid $12 to distribute fliers and also be reimbursed for mileage ($0.31 per mile to/from the distribution)
• Individual will be paid $25 per event attended to flier participant cars.
For all those seeking to volunteer or assist in the race coordination for the event, please contact Joan Lamayo directly. She is personally coordinating the marketing, so all information posted here is accurate and correct.

Here is an update about this year's Las Vegas Track Club's Forrest Challenge up in Mount Charleston. Please note this IS a Championship Series race and only the 15K will COUNT for points!

***Forest Challenge Update***
Due to permit issues and the fire at Mt. Charleston, we will be running a "substitute" Forest Challenge this year. The race will be a Championship Series points race.
What: Forest Challenge 15k & 5k (only the 15k is part of the Championship Series)
Where: Equestrian Park & the River Mountains Loop Trail
When: Saturday, October 5, 8:00 a.m.
Fees: Through October 2nd: $25 for LVTC Members, $30 for General Public. Day of race: $40 all. With the 5K season pretty much behind us now it is time to focus on those longer distances. That means fall halves/full marathons!
How many out there would be interested in running the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon. The event features a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, AND bike tour!
The race is October 13th and currently registration fees are:
Full - $120
Half - $100
5K - $40
Bike Tour - $40
These prices are good till August 31st. After that everything will go up $5 EXCEPT THE FULL! The new price is $125 for the half on September 1st
Members looking to travel with us should contact us immediately in order to start arranging travel plans. Entries must be done by NO LATER THAN August 31st. There will be no exceptions. Members who register for the event AFTER the indicated date will make their own travel arrangements.
